உலக ஆக்டோபஸ் தினம் - World Octopus Day :

✒️World Octopus Day is an annual event celebrated on October 8 Octopus is a very intelligent and curious creature and one of the oldest creatures still living in the sea. According to sources, some octopus fossils are said to be 300 million years old. The day is celebrated all over the world to raise awareness about these amazing creatures.

• உலக ஆக்டோபஸ் தினம் என்பது அக்டோபர் 8 ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாடப்படும் வருடாந்திர நிகழ்வாகும், ஆக்டோபஸ்கள் மிகவும் புத்திசாலி மற்றும் ஆர்வமுள்ள உயிரினம் மற்றும் இன்னும் கடலில் வாழும் பழைய உயிரினங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். ஆதாரங்களின்படி, சில ஆக்டோபஸ் படிமங்கள் 300 மில்லியன் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முந்தையவை என்று கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்த அற்புதமான உயிரினங்களைப் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த உலகம் முழுவதும் இந்த நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

இந்திய விமானப்படை தினம் - Indian Air Force Day :

✒️Air Force, one of the three armed forces of India, was created on 8th October 1932. To commemorate this and to honor the sacrifices of the Air Force, Indian Air Force Day is celebrated on 8th October every year.

• இந்தியாவின் முப்படைகளுள் ஒன்றான விமானப்படை, 1932ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 8ஆம் தேதி உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. இதனை நினைவுப்படுத்தும் விதமாகவும், விமானப்படையினரின் தியாகங்களை போற்றும் விதமாகவும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 8ஆம் தேதி, இந்திய விமானப்படை தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

உலக டிஸ்லெக்ஸியா தினம் - World Dyslexia Day:

✒️World Dyslexia Day is observed on 8th October every year. Dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects a person's ability to read and write correctly. The day aims to promote access to education and implement effective strategies to support people with dyslexia in their learning attempts.

• உலக டிஸ்லெக்ஸியா தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 8ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. டிஸ்லெக்ஸியா என்பது ஒரு நபரின் சரியாக படிக்கும் மற்றும் எழுதும் திறனை பாதிக்கும் ஒரு கற்றல் குறைபாடு ஆகும்.  டிஸ்லெக்ஸியா உள்ளவர்களுக்கு அவர்களின் கற்றல் முயற்சிகளில் ஆதரவளிப்பதற்கான பயனுள்ள உத்திகளைச் செயல்படுத்துவதையும், அவர்களின் கல்விக்கான அணுகலை ஊக்குவிப்பதையும், இந்நாளின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகக் பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

G.N.Ramachandran - Physicist

ஜி.என்.ராமச்சந்திரன் - Gopalasamudram Narayanan Ramachandran - Indian Physicist :

✒️G.N.Ramachandran, one of the most prominent Indian scientists of the twentieth century and a physicist, was born on 8th October, 1922 in Ernakulam, Kerala. In 1952, he was appointed as the Head of the Physics Department of Madras University. He created a new department of Crystallography and Biophysics under the Department of Physics with modern research facilities of international standards. It is one of the premier research institutes in the country. His discovery of the triple-helical model for structure of collagen in molecular biophysics helped to understand the fundamentals of protein structure. He has received many awards like Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award of Indian Department of Physics, Fellow of London Royal Society and Ewald Award for his work in the field of crystallography. G.N.Ramachandran, who was a respected scientist loved by all, passed away on 7th April, 2001.

• இருபதாம் நூற்றாண்டின் இந்திய அறிவியலாளர்களுள் முக்கியமானவரும், இயற்பியல் விஞ்ஞானியுமான ஜி.என்.ராமச்சந்திரன் 1922ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 8ஆம் தேதி கேரள மாநிலம் எர்ணாகுளத்தில் பிறந்தார்.

• 1952ஆம் ஆண்டு சென்னை பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் இயற்பியல் துறை தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். இயற்பியல் துறையின் கீழ் கிரிஸ்டலோகிராஃபி மற்றும் பயோபிசிக்ஸ் என்ற புதிய துறையை நவீன ஆய்வு வசதிகளுடன் சர்வதேச தரத்துடன் உருவாக்கினார். இது நாட்டின் தலைசிறந்த ஆய்வுநிலையங்களில் ஒன்றாக திகழ்கிறது.

• மூலக்கூறு உயிரி இயற்பியலில் புரதங்களின் கட்டமைப்பு பற்றிய தசைநார் புரதத்தின் மும்மடங்கு எழுச்சுருள் வடிவம் (triple-helical model for structure of collagen) என்ற இவரது கண்டுபிடிப்பு புரதக்கூறுகளின் வடிவமைப்பின் அடிப்படைகளை அறிந்துகொள்ள உதவியது.

• இந்திய இயற்பியல் துறையின் சாந்தி ஸ்வரூப் பட்நாகர் விருது, லண்டன் ராயல் சொசைட்டியின் ஃபெலோ ஆஃப் விருது, கிரிஸ்டலோகிராஃபி துறையில் இவர் ஆற்றிய பணிக்காக இவால்டு(Ewald) விருது போன்ற பல விருதுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். அனைவராலும் விரும்பப்படும் மரியாதைக்குரிய விஞ்ஞானியாகத் திகழ்ந்த ஜி.என்.ராமச்சந்திரன் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 7ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
