உலக மரண தண்டனை எதிர்ப்பு தினம் - World Day Against the Death Penalty :

✒️The death penalty is the most severe punishment for criminals. Most countries do not have the death penalty. It is observed with the intention of countries that currently have the death penalty to abandon it. On May 13, 2002, a meeting of NGOs in Rome passed a resolution to abolish the death penalty and develop an anti-death penalty movement. Then in 2003 October 10th was declared as World Day Against the Death Penalty.

✒️The day which is supported by numerous NGOs and world governments, including Amnesty International, the European Union and the United Nations. On 26 September 2007, the Council of Europe also declared 10 October to be the European Day Against the Death Penalty.

✒️The absence of effective legal representation during arrest, detention, trial and post-trial, due process cannot be guaranteed. In a capital case, the consequences that can arise from a lack of effective legal representation can be nothing less than the difference between life and death.

✒️Further the national and international levels, the right to legal representation is enshrined in most constitutions and human rights instruments. Unfortunately, justice systems around the world repeatedly violate this right and fail to give those charged with a crime adequate legal representation.

✒️So, working towards the total and complete abolition of the death penalty worldwide for all crimes, it is crucial to alert civil society and the international community to the necessity that, at all stages of the legal proceedings, those facing the cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment of execution should at least have access to effective legal representation. Such legal aid can provide the basic protection of either avoiding the sentence or appealing the verdict.

Morethan106 countries abolished the death penalty for all crimes.

Morethan 8 countries abolished the death penalty only for ordinary crimes.

Morethan 28 countries are in practice for abolishing.

Morethan 56 countries are in practice for detaining.

Recently, five countries have carried out most executions were China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Egypt.

✒️குற்றம் புரிந்தவர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்படும் தண்டனைகளில் மிக கொடுமையான தண்டனை மரண தண்டனையாகும். பெரும்பாலான நாடுகளில் மரண தண்டனை இல்லை. தற்போது மரண தண்டனையைக் கொண்டுள்ள நாடுகளும் அதை கைவிட வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தில் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. 2002ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 13ஆம் தேதி ரோமில் கூடிய என்.ஜி.ஓ.க்கள் கூட்டத்தில் மரண தண்டனையை ரத்து செய்யவும், மரண தண்டனை எதிர்ப்பு இயக்கத்தை வளர்க்க வேண்டும் என்றும் தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. பின் 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 10ஆம் தேதி மரண தண்டனை எதிர்ப்பு தினமாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

உலக மனநல தினம் - World Mental Health Day :

✒️Since 1992, World Mental Health Day has been observed on 10th October every year by the World Federation for Mental Health. World Mental Health Day is celebrated for human mental health and global goodwill.

உலக மனநல மையம் (World Federation for Mental Health) சார்பில் 1992ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 10ஆம் தேதி உலக மனநல தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. மனிதனின் மன ஆரோக்கியம் மற்றும் உலக நல்லெண்ணத்திற்காகவே உலக மனநல தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

தேசிய தபால் தினம் - National Post Day :

✒️This year, National Postal Week is celebrated in India from 9th October to 13th October. Its purpose is to popularize the mission and objective of the Indian Postal Department among the people, to improve the postal service for the public and to make it more accessible to the public.

இந்த வருடம் இந்தியாவில் அக்டோபர் 9ஆம் தேதி முதல் 13ஆம் தேதி வரை தேசிய தபால் வாரமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இதன் நோக்கம் இந்திய அஞ்சல் துறையின் நோக்கத்தையும், குறிக்கோளையும் மக்களிடையே பிரபலப்படுத்தி, பொதுமக்களுக்கான தபால் சேவையினை மேம்படுத்தி, பொதுமக்கள் அதிகமாக பயன்படுத்தி கொள்ள வழிவகை செய்வதே ஆகும்.

R.K.NARAYAN - WRITER

ஆர்.கே.நாராயணன் - Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Narayanaswami - Indian Writer :

✒️English writer and Indian novelist R.K.Narayan was born on 10th October, 1906 in Chennai. His book "The Guide" won the Sahitya Akademi Award. He has received awards like Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Such a renowned writer passed away on 13th May, 2001.

புகழ்பெற்ற ஆங்கில எழுத்தாளர், இந்திய நாவல் ஆசிரியர் ஆர்.கே.நாராயணன் அக்டோபர் 10ஆம் தேதி 1906ஆம் ஆண்டு சென்னையில் பிறந்தார். இவர் எழுதிய "தி கைட்" (The guide) என்ற புத்தகம் சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருதைப் பெற்றது.

இவர் பத்ம பூஷண், பத்ம விபூஷண் போன்ற விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார். இவர் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 13ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

ஜெர்ஹார்ட் எர்ல் - Gerhard Ertl - German Physicist :

✒️Gerhard Ertl, who laid the foundation for the modern field of surface chemistry, was born on 10th October, 1936 in Germany. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2007 for his discovery of the chemical reactions occurring in the Haber-Bosch process of producing ammonia over iron via catalysts.

நவீன புறப்பரப்பு வேதியியல் களத்துக்காகவே அடித்தளமிட்ட ஜெர்ஹார்ட் எர்ல் 1936ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 10ஆம் தேதி ஜெர்மனியில் பிறந்தார்.

இவர் வினையூக்கிகள் வழி இரும்பின் மீது, அமோனியாவை உற்பத்தி செய்யும் ஹாபர்-போஷ் (Haber Bosch) செய்முறையில் நிகழும் வேதியியல் வினைகளைக் கண்டறிந்ததற்காக இவருக்கு 2007ஆம் ஆண்டில் வேதியியலுக்கான நோபல் பரிசு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
