Kavimani Desigavinayagam Pillai - Renowned Tamil Poet தேசிக விநாயகம் பிள்ளை - Kavimani Desigavinayagam Pillai - Renowned Tamil Poet : ✒️Kavimani Desigavinayagam Pillai, one of the renaissance poets of Tamil Nadu, was born on 27 July 1876 in Theroor, Kanyakumari district. He was the first to write a series of songs for children in Tamil. In 1940 he was awarded the title of 'Kavimani' by Tamilvel Umamagesvaran Pillai at Pachaiyappan College, Chennai. "Malarum Malayum," "Asia Jyoti," "Umargayyam Songs," "Alagammai Asiriya Vritham," "Kathar Pirantha kathai," "Kuzhandhai Selvam" are notable among his works.
