Frederick Russell - Developer of Typhoid Vaccine

பிரெடரிக் ரஸல் - Frederick F. Russell - Physician - Developer of Typhoid Vaccine :

✒️Brigadier General Frederick Fuller Russell, who introduced the typhoid vaccine to the Army, was born on August 17, 1870 in Auburn, New York, USA. Working in the army medical department, he researched the program to provide vaccination against typhoid to soldiers. After that, he was sent to England as a laboratory visitor to Sir Almroth Wright, a professor of the Royal College of Medicine and researcher of anti-typhoid. He developed a vaccine to kill typhoid germs. Later, soldiers were gradually given the vaccine from 1910 onwards. It worked so well that in 1911 vaccination was made compulsory for all. The US National Academy of Sciences awarded him the Public Welfare Medal in recognition of his contributions to public welfare programs. For the next few years, he worked as a professor of infectious and preventive medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harward school of public health. Such a great Physician, who brought the typhoid vaccine into public use and was involved in preventive research until the end, was died in 1960.

• ராணுவத்தில் டைஃபாய்டு தடுப்பூசியை அறிமுகம் செய்தவரான பிரிகேடியர் ஜெனரல் பிரெடரிக் ஃபுல்லர் ரஸல் 1870ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி அமெரிக்காவின் நியூயார்க் மாநிலத்திலுள்ள அபர்ன் நகரில் பிறந்தார்.

• ராணுவ மருத்துவப் பிரிவில் பணிபுரிந்த இவர், வீரர்களுக்கு டைஃபாய்டு வராமல் தடுக்க தடுப்பூசி வழங்கும் திட்டம் குறித்து ஆராய்ச்சி மேற்கொண்டார். அதையடுத்து, ராயல் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி பேராசிரியரும், டைஃபாய்டு நோய்த் தடுப்பு மருந்து ஆராய்ச்சியாளருமான சர்.அல்ம்ரோத் ரைட்டின் ஆய்வுக்கூடப் பார்வையாளராக இவரை இங்கிலாந்துக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.

• இவர் டைஃபாய்டு கிருமிகளை அழிக்கும் தடுப்பு மருந்தை மேம்படுத்தினார். பிறகு, ராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு 1910ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் சிறிது சிறிதாக தடுப்பு மருந்து வழங்கப்பட்டது. அது நல்ல பலனைத் தந்ததால், 1911ஆம் ஆண்டு அனைவருக்கும் தடுப்பூசி கட்டாயமாக்கப்பட்டது.

• டைஃபாய்டு தடுப்பு மருந்தை மக்கள் பயன்பாட்டிற்கு கொண்டுவந்து, இறுதிவரை நோய்த் தடுப்பு ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்டு வந்த பிரிகேடியர் ஜெனரல் பிரெடரிக் ஃபுல்லர் ரஸல் 1960ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 29ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟The National Sports University Act, 2018 : It was enacted on 17th August, 2018 & as per Sec 1(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on 31st May, 2018, to establish and incorporate a National Sports University in the State of Manipur, a specialised University first of its kind, to promote sports education in the areas of sports sciences, sports technology, sports management and sports coaching besides functioning as the national training centre for select sports disciplines by adopting best international practices and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

🌟நீதிபதி A.வரதராஜன், இந்திய உச்ச நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி (1980-85), 1920ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ந் தேதியன்று தமிழகத்தின் திருப்பத்தூரில் பிறந்தார். (இவர் தனது பணியின் போது, இ.த.ச.303வது பிரிவைத் நீக்கியது உள்ளிட்ட பல முக்கியத் தீர்ப்புகளை வழங்கியுள்ளார்) - Justice A.Varadarajan, Judge of Supreme Court of India (1980-85), was born on 17th August 1920 at Tirupattur, Tamilnadu. (During his tenure, he has delivered many landmark judgments such as striking down of Section 303 of the IPC).

🌟தமிழக அரசியல் தலைவர்களுள் ஒருவரும், நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினரும், விடுதலை சிறுத்தைகள் கட்சியின் நிறுவனர் மற்றும் தலைவருமான, தொல்.திருமாவளவன் அவர்கள் 1962ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ந் தேதியன்று பிறந்தார் - Tholkappiyan Thirumavalavan, Political Leader from Tamilnadu, Member of Parliament, Founder and President of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, was born on 17th August 1962.

🌟 1837ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி அடிமைத்தனத்திற்கு எதிராக வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் போராடிய போராளியும், கவிஞரும், கல்வியாளருமான ஷார்லட் லூயிஸ் கிரிம்கீ அமெரிக்காவின் பென்சில்வேனியா மாநிலம் பிலடெல்பியாவில் பிறந்தார் - On August 17, 1837, Charlotte Louise Bridges Forten Grimke, a lifelong anti-slavery activist, poet, and educator, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

🌟 1909ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்திய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரர் மதன் லால் டிங்கரா மறைந்தார் - Indian freedom fighter Madan Lal Dhingra passed away on 17th August 1909.

🌟 இன்று இந்தோனேசியா சுதந்திர தினம் : 1945ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்தோனேசியா நெதர்லாந்திடமிருந்து விடுதலை பெற்றது - Today is Indonesia Independence Day : Indonesia gained Independence from the Netherlands on August 17, 1945.

🌟 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவையும், பாகிஸ்தானையும் பிரிக்கும் இராட்கிளிப் கோடு (Radcliffe Line) (எல்லைக்கோடு) வெளியிடப்பட்டது - On August 17, 1947, the Radcliffe Line (Boundary Line) dividing India and Pakistan was drawn.

🌟 முதலாவது பதிவு வட்டு ஜெர்மனியில் 1982 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் 17 ஆம் நாள் வெளியிடப்பட்டது - The first recorded disk was released in Germany on August 17, 1982.

🌟1999ஆம் ஆண்டு, ஆகஸ்ட் 17 தேதியன்று, துருக்கியின் இஸ்மிட் அருகே 7.4 ரிக்டர் அளவிலான நிலநடுக்கம் ஏற்பட்டது, இதில் 17,000 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் இறந்தனர் - On August 17, 1999, a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near Izmit, Turkey, killing more than 17,000 people.

🌟 1963ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்திய திரைப்பட இயக்குனர் ஷங்கர் கும்பகோணத்தில் பிறந்தார் - Indian film director Shankar was born on August 17, 1963 in Kumbakonam.
