He was the first to write a series of songs for children in Tamil. In 1940 he was awarded the title of 'Kavimani' by Tamilvel Umamagesvaran Pillai at Pachaiyappan College, Chennai. "Malarum Malayum," "Asia Jyoti," "Umargayyam Songs," "Alagammai Asiriya Vritham," "Kathar Pirantha kathai," "Kuzhandhai Selvam" are notable among his works.
