உலக கைகழுவும் தினம் - Global Handwashing Day :

✒️World Health Organization observes 15th October every year as World Handwashing Day. On this day, it is observed to create awareness around the world about the method of hand washing and its benefits.

  • உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பு ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 15ம் தேதியை உலக கைகழுவும் நாளாக கடைபிடிக்கிறது. இந்நாளில் கைகழுவும் முறை பற்றியும், அதனால் உண்டாகும் நன்மை பற்றியும் உலகம் முழுவதும் விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்த இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

உலக வெண்மை பிரம்பு பாதுகாப்பு தினம் - White Cane Safety Day :

✒️The method of using a white stick has been practiced worldwide since 1931. It is observed on 15th October with the aim of helping the millions of blind people around the world.

  • வெண்மைத்தடி பயன்படுத்தும் முறை என்பது 1931ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து உலகம் முழுவதும் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தது. உலகெங்கும் வாழும் இலட்சக்கணக்கான பார்வையற்ற மக்களுக்கு உதவும் நோக்கத்துடன் இத்தினம் அக்டோபர் 15ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

சர்வதேச கிராமப்புற பெண்கள் தினம் - International Day of Rural Women :

✒️Apart from housework, rural women also do agriculture, fishing and grazing. In African and South Asian countries, 60 percent of women work in agriculture. Since 2008, October 15th has been observed as International Day of Rural Women to recognize them. The day emphasizes providing basic facilities like food and sanitation to rural women.

  • வீட்டு வேலைகளை மட்டுமல்லாமல் விவசாயம், மீன் பிடித்தல், மேய்ச்சல் உள்ளிட்ட தொழில்களையும் கிராமப்புற பெண்கள் செய்கின்றனர். ஆப்பிரிக்கா மற்றும் தெற்கு ஆசிய நாடுகளில் 60 சதவீத பெண்கள் விவசாயப் பணிகளில் ஈடுபடுகின்றனர்.

  • இவர்களை அங்கீகரிக்கும் விதத்தில் 2008ஆம் ஆண்டுமுதல் அக்டோபர் 15ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச கிராமப்புற பெண்கள் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. கிராமப்புற பெண்களுக்கு உணவு, சுகாதாரம் உள்ளிட்ட அடிப்படை வசதிகளை செய்துதர இத்தினம் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

ஏ.பி.ஜே.அப்துல் கலாம் - Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam - Former President of India - Indian Aerospace Scientist :

✒️India's great scientist,  Missile Man Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam (Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam) was born on October 15, 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. His birthday was declared a "World Students' Day" in 2010 by the United Nations. "Youth Awakening Day" is also celebrated on 15th October every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. He continued his research work at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and successfully launched the Rohini-I satellite in 1980 using the SLV-III rocket, adding to India's pride.

  • Kalam was noted for his integrity and his simple lifestyle. He never owned a television, and was in the habit of rising at 6:30 or 7 a.m. and sleeping by 2 a.m.His few personal possessions included his books, his musical instrument veena some articles of clothing, a CD player and a laptop; at his death, he left no will, and his possessions went to his eldest brother, who survived him.

  • On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong to deliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. While climbing a flight of stairs, he experienced some discomfort, but was able to enter the auditorium after a brief rest. At around 6:35 p.m. IST, only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed. He was rushed to the nearby Bethany Hospital in a critical condition; upon arrival, he lacked a pulse or any other signs of life. Despite being placed in the intensive care unit, Kalam was confirmed dead of a sudden cardiac arrest at 7:45 p.m.

  • Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, who turned India into a nuclear power, his demise is an irreparable loss not only for India but also for the world.

  • இந்திய ஏவுகணை நாயகன் டாக்டர் ஏ.பி.ஜே.அப்துல் கலாம் 1931ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 15ஆம் தேதி தமிழ்நாட்டிலுள்ள ராமேஸ்வரத்தில் பிறந்தார். வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் மாணவர்களுக்கு சிறந்த முன்னுதாரணமாக விளங்கிய இவரின் பிறந்த நாளை ஐ.நா. சபை 2010ல் உலக மாணவர்கள் தினமாக அறிவித்தது. டாக்டர் ஏ.பி.ஜே.யின் பிறந்தநாளை நினைவுகூரும் வகையில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 15ஆம் தேதி இளைஞர் எழுச்சி நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

  • இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆராய்ச்சி கூடத்தில் (ISRO) தனது ஆராய்ச்சிப்பணிகளைத் தொடர்ந்த இவர் 1980ஆம் ஆண்டு SLV-III ராக்கெட்டை பயன்படுத்தி ரோகினி-I என்ற துணைக்கோளை வெற்றிகரமாக விண்ணில் செலுத்தி இந்தியாவிற்கே பெருமை சேர்த்தார்.

  • இவர் பத்ம பூஷண்(1981), பத்ம விபூஷண்(1990), பாரத ரத்னா (1997) போன்ற விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார். இவருடைய "அக்னி சிறகுகள்", "இந்தியா 2020", ஆகிய புத்தகங்கள் புகழ் பெற்றவைகள்.

  • இவர் 1999ஆம் ஆண்டு பொக்ரான் அணு ஆயுத சோதனையில் முக்கிய பங்காற்றினார். 2002ஆம் ஆண்டு நடந்த குடியரசுத் தலைவர் தேர்தலில் வெற்றி பெற்று, இந்தியாவின் 11வது குடியரசு தலைவராக 2007ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை பணியாற்றினார். இந்தியாவை அணு ஆயுத வல்லரசாக மாற்றிய ஏ.பி.ஜே அப்துல் கலாம் அவர்கள் 2015ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுலை 27ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
