கிரிகோர் மெண்டல் - Gregor Johann Mendel - Biologist - Meteorologist - Mathematician :
✒️Gregor Johann Mendel, the father of genetics, was born on July 20, 1822 in Heinzendorf, Austria (now the Czech Republic). From his childhood, he had a keen interest in genetic research. So, he grew pea plants in his garden and did research. He found that genetic qualities are passed from one generation to the next according to certain rules. These are called Mendel's laws. Mendel died in 1884 after discovering the basis of life science.
- மரபியலின் தந்தை கிரிகோர் ஜோஹன் மெண்டல் 1822ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 20ஆம் தேதி ஆஸ்திரியப் பேரரசின் ஹெய்ன்சன் டார்ஃப் நகரில் (இன்றைய செக் குடியரசு) பிறந்தார்.
- சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே இவருக்கு மரபுப் பண்புகள் ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் ஆர்வம் அதிகமாக இருந்தது. எனவே, தனது தோட்டத்தில் பட்டாணிச் செடிகளை வளர்த்து ஆராய்ச்சி செய்து வந்தார்.
- இவர் மரபுப் பண்புகள் சில குறிப்பிட்ட விதிகளுக்கு உட்பட்டு ஒரு சந்ததியில் இருந்து அடுத்த சந்ததிக்கு கடத்தப்படுவதைக் கண்டறிந்தார். இவையே மெண்டலின் விதிகள் எனப்படுகின்றன.
- உயிர் அறிவியலின் அடிப்படையைக் கண்டறிந்த மெண்டல் 1884ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 6ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
சர்வதேச சதுரங்க தினம் - International chess day :
✒️The World Chess Federation was founded on July 20, 1924 in Paris. It is a global organization that unites the chess organizations of the world's countries. Its goal is that we are all one people. Currently more than 150 countries are members of this organization. The federation declared July 20 as International Chess Day in 1966.
- உலக சதுரங்க கூட்டமைப்பு 1924ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 20ஆம் தேதி பாரிஸ் நகரில் நிறுவப்பட்டது. இது உலக நாடுகளின் சதுரங்க அமைப்புகளை ஒன்றிணைக்கும் ஒரு உலக நிறுவனமாகும்.
- இதன் குறிக்கோள் நாம் அனைவரும் ஒரே மக்கள் என்பதாகும். தற்போது இந்நிறுவனத்தில் 150க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நாடுகள் அங்கம் வகிக்கின்றன. இக்கூட்டமைப்பு ஜூலை 20ஆம் தேதியை சர்வதேச சதுரங்க தினமாக 1966ஆம் ஆண்டில் அறிவித்தது.
சர்வதேச நிலவு தினம் - International Moon Day :
✒️The General Assembly declared International Moon Day, a United Nations-designated international day to be observed annually on 20 July, in its resolution 76/76 on “International cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space” in 2021. Further International Moon Day marks the anniversary of the first landing by humans on the Moon as part of the Apollo 11 lunar mission.
- பொதுச் சபையானது 2021 ஆம் ஆண்டில் "விண்வெளியின் அமைதியான பயன்பாட்டில் சர்வதேச ஒத்துழைப்பு" என்ற 76/76 தீர்மானத்தில் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூலை 20 அன்று ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையால் நியமிக்கப்பட்ட சர்வதேச தினமாக சர்வதேச நிலவு தினத்தை அறிவித்தது.
- மேலும், அப்பல்லோ 11 சந்திர பயணத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக சந்திரனில் மனிதர்கள் முதன்முதலில் தரையிறங்கியதன் ஆண்டு நிறைவையும் சர்வதேச நிலவு தினம் அனுசரிக்கிறது.
