உலக சதுப்புநிலக்காடுகள் தினம் - The International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem :
✒️Mangroves act as a shield against natural disasters such as storms and tsunamis. These are along the coast. It is also known as mangrove forests and migratory forests. Therefore, to protect these from destruction, July 26th is observed as World Mangrove Day.
- புயல், சுனாமி போன்ற இயற்கை சீற்றங்களினால் ஏற்படும் பேரழிவுகளை தடுக்கும் கேடயமாக சதுப்புநிலக்காடுகள் உள்ளன. இவை கடற்கரையை ஒட்டி உள்ளன. இதனை மாங்ரோவ் காடுகள், அலையாத்திக் காடுகள் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகின்றன. எனவே இவற்றை அழியாமல் பாதுகாத்திட ஜூலை 26ஆம் தேதியை உலக சதுப்புநிலக்காடுகள் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
கார்கில் போர் நினைவு தினம் - Kargil Vijay Diwas (kargil victory day) :
✒️More than 500 soldiers and officers lost their lives for the country in the war between Indian and Pakistani army in Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir, which started from May to July 1999. Kargil Victory Day is observed on July 26 to pay tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation and to honor the wounded soldiers.
- ஜம்மு - காஷ்மீர் மாநிலம் கார்கில் மாவட்டத்தில் இந்திய - பாகிஸ்தான் ராணுவத்திற்கு இடையே 1999ஆம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் துவங்கி ஜூலை வரை நடைபெற்ற போரில் சுமார் 500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ராணுவ வீரர்களும், அதிகாரிகளும் தங்களது இன்னுயிரை நாட்டுக்காக இழந்தனர்.
- நாட்டு மக்களுக்காக இன்னுயிரை தியாகம் செய்த ராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்தவும், காயமடைந்த வீரர்களை கௌரவிக்கும் விதமாகவும் ஜூலை 26ஆம் தேதி, கார்கில் நினைவு தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
மு.கு.ஜகந்நாதராஜா - Mu.Ku.Jakannatharaja - Author - Multilingualist :
✒️Multilingual scholar who exchanged knowledge between languages Mu.Ku.Jagannatharaja was born on 26th July 1933 at Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district. Through his perseverance he learned many languages. Later he translated the excellent literature of Tamil like 'Thirukkural', 'Purananuru', 'Kurinchippattu' etc, into Telugu. In 1988 King Krishna Devarayar Tamilized the Telugu epic 'Amuktamalyatha' (sudi koduthaval). This is the first book to win the 'Sahitya Akademi Award' for Tamil translation. He has authored several books including 'Muthollaayiram', Tamil and Prakrit, a comparative Dictionary of Indian Languages (1994), Yapiyal in Dravidian Languages. Mu.Ku.Jagannatharaja who expanded human knowledge between many languages, was passed away on December 2, 2008.
- மொழிகளுக்கு இடையே அறிவைப் பரிமாறிய பன்மொழிப்புலவர் மு.கு.ஜகந்நாதராஜா 1933ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 26ஆம் தேதி விருதுநகர் மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள ராஜபாளையத்தில் பிறந்தார்.
- தன் விடாமுயற்சியால் பல மொழிகளை கற்றுக்கொண்டார். பிறகு தமிழின் மேன்மைமிக்க இலக்கியங்களான திருக்குறள், புறநானூறு, குறிஞ்சிப்பாட்டு முதலியவற்றை தெலுங்கில் மொழிப்பெயர்த்தார்.
- மன்னர் கிருஷ்ண தேவராயர் தெலுங்கில் இயற்றிய ஆமுக்த மால்யத (சூடிக் கொடுத்தவள்) என்ற காவியத்தை 1988ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழாக்கம் செய்தார். இதுவே தமிழ் மொழிபெயர்ப்புக்காக சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது வாங்கிய முதல் நூலாகும்.
- முத்தொள்ளாயிரம், தமிழும் பிராகிருதமும், இந்திய மொழிகளின் ஒப்பிலக்கியம் (1994), திராவிட மொழிகளில் யாப்பியல் உள்ளிட்ட பல நூல்களை எழுதியுள்ளார்.
- பல மொழிகளுக்கு இடையே மனித அறிவை விரிவுப்படுத்திய இவர் 2008ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 2ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟1788ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 26ஆம் தேதி ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவின் 11வது மாநிலமாக நியூயார்க் இணைந்தது - On July 26, 1788, New York became the 11th state of the United States.
