டாக்டர் ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் - Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - Former President of India (served as the first Vice President of India and the second President of India) - Politician - Indian Academic - Professor - Philosopher (Teachers Day also celebrated today) :
✒️Dr.Radhakrishnan, Former President of India and Philosopher, was born on 5th September 1888 in a village called Sarvapalli near Tiruttani. In order to honor him, his birthday, September 5, is celebrated as Teachers' Day every year. His book Indian Philosophy was published in 1923 and It is hailed as a masterpiece of classical philosophical literature. Apart from subjects, he also taught the students Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Brahma Sutra. Once Gandhi looking at him, and said you are like Kannan to me. As Arjuna, I want to take lessons from you. He was elected as the first Vice President of the country in 1952 held the post twice and thereafter elected as the second President of India in 1962. The country's highest award, the "Bharat Ratna", was conferred in 1954. He started his career as a teacher and rose to become the President of the country and died on 17th April 1975.
- நாட்டின் முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதியும், தத்துவமேதையுமான டாக்டர் சர்வபள்ளி ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் 1888ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி திருத்தணி அருகேயுள்ள சர்வபள்ளி என்ற கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவரை போற்றும் வகையில் ஆண்டுதோறும் இவரின் பிறந்தநாளான செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி ஆசிரியர் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
- 1923ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய தத்துவம் என்ற இவரது நூல் வெளியானது. இது, பாரம்பரிய தத்துவ இலக்கியத்தின் தலைசிறந்த படைப்பாகப் போற்றப்படுகிறது. பாடங்கள் தவிர, உபநிடதங்கள், பகவத்கீதை, பிரம்மசூத்திரம் ஆகியவற்றையும் மாணவர்களுக்கு போதித்தார்.
- இவரைப் பார்த்து நீங்கள் எனக்கு கண்ணன் மாதிரி. நான் அர்ஜுனனாக உங்களிடம் பாடம் கேட்க விரும்புகிறேன் என்றாராம், காந்தி.
- இவர் நாட்டின் முதல் குடியரசு துணைத்தலைவராக 1952ஆம் ஆண்டு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். இவர் அப்பதவியை 2 முறை வகித்தார். அதன் பிறகு 1962 இல் இந்தியாவின் இரண்டாவது ஜனாதிபதியாக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். நாட்டின் உயரிய "பாரத ரத்னா" விருது 1954ஆம் ஆண்டு வழங்கப்பட்டது. ஆசிரியராகப் பணியைத் தொடங்கி, நாட்டின் குடியரசுத் தலைவராக உயர்ந்த இவர் 1975ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 17ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

வ.உ.சிதம்பரம்பிள்ளை - Valliyappan Olaganathan Chidambaram Pillai (V.O.C) - Indian Freedom Fighter - Lawyer :
✒️V.O.Chidambaram Pillai, Kappalottiya Thamizhan (engaged in shipping business to challenge the British in British rule, hence he called as "kappalottiya Thamizhan - Helmsman"), was born on 5th September 1872 in a town called Ottapidaram in Tuticorin district. His full name is Valliappan Olaga nathan Chidambaram Pillai. V.O.C. wanted to end the domination of the British in India. Hence, he started a shipping company (Swadeshi Steam Navigation) in October 1906 and Pandi Durai Devar took over as the chairman of the company. As V.O.C took an active part in the liberation war, he also did famous charity work for Tamil. He wrote and published a simple text for Thiruvalluvar's Tirukkural. Such a Tamil Scholar & Patriot died on November 18, 1936.
- கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன் வ.உ.சிதம்பரம்பிள்ளை 1872ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள ஒட்டப்பிடாரம் என்ற ஊரில் பிறந்தார். இவரின் முழுப்பெயர் வள்ளியப்பன் உலகநாதன் சிதம்பரம்பிள்ளை.
- ஆங்கிலேயரின் ஆதிக்கத்தை ஒழிக்க எண்ணிய வ.உ.சி. அக்டோபர் 1906ஆம் ஆண்டு (சுதேசி ஸ்டீம் நேவிகேஷன்) கப்பல் நிறுவனத்தை தொடங்கினார். நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவராகப் பாண்டித்துரை தேவர் பதவி ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார்.
- வ.உ.சி விடுதலை போரில் தீவிரப் பங்கு எடுத்ததைப் போல் தமிழுக்கும் புகழ்மிக்க தொண்டு செய்துள்ளார். திருவள்ளுவரின் திருக்குறளுக்கு எளிய உரை எழுதி வெளியிட்டார். 1936ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 18ஆம் தேதி சிதம்பரனார் மறைந்தார்.

🌟The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 : It was enacted 5th September 1970 & came into force on 10th February 1971, to regulate the employment of contract labour in certain establishments and to provide for its abolition in certain circumstances and for matters connected therewith.
🌟The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 : It was enacted on 5th September 2005 & came into force on 2nd February 2006, to provide for the enhancement of livelihood security of the households in rural areas of the country by providing at least one hundred days of guaranteed wage employment in every financial year to every household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
🌟 1997ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் சேவை செய்து வந்த அன்னை தெரசா மறைந்தார் - On September 5, 1997, Mother Teresa passed away after a lifetime of service.

🌟 1980ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 5ஆம் தேதி உலகின் மிக நீளமான நெடுஞ்சாலை சுரங்கமான கோதார்ட் சாலைச் சுரங்கம் சுவிட்சர்லாந்தில் திறக்கப்பட்டது - On 5th September 1980, the Gotthard Road Tunnel, the world's longest highway tunnel, was opened in Switzerland.
