✒️Umashankar Joshi, a freedom fighter and a prominent writer in the field of literature, was born on 21st July 1911 in Bamna village of sabarkantha District, Gujarat. Inspired by Gandhiji's policies, he joined the Non-Cooperation Movement in 1930. His epic 'Vishwashanthi' elevated him as a major creator in the world of literature. His subsequent works added richness to Gujarati literature. He has received many awards including 'Jnanpith Award', 'Soviet Nehru Award', 'Delhi Sahitya Akademy Award'. Uma Shankar Joshi, who was a multifaceted literary figure, passed away in 1988.

• சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரரும், இலக்கியக் களத்தில் முக்கிய படைப்பாளியுமான உமாசங்கர் ஜோஷி 1911ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 21ஆம் தேதி குஜராத் மாநிலம், சாபர்கண்ட் மாவட்டத்தின் பாம்னா கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார்.

• காந்தியடிகளின் கொள்கைகளால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, 1930ஆம் ஆண்டு ஒத்துழையாமை இயக்கத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டார். இவருடைய 'விஷ்வசாந்தி" என்ற காவியம் இவரை இலக்கிய உலகில் முக்கியப் படைப்பாளியாக உயர்த்தியது.

• இலக்கிய களத்தில் பன்முகப் பரிமாணம் கொண்ட உமாசங்கர் ஜோஷி 1988ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 19ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
