உலக உணவு தினம் - World Food Day :

✒️World Food Day is observed on October 16 to emphasize the importance of food. This day was announced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1979. World Food Day is observed with the aim that no one should go hungry and everyone should have access to food.

  • உணவின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை வலியுறுத்தி அக்டோபர் 16ஆம் தேதி உலக உணவு தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. கடந்த 1979ஆம் ஆண்டு ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் உணவு மற்றும் வேளாண் அமைப்பின் மூலம் இந்த தினம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

  • பசியால் யாரும் வாடக்கூடாது, அனைவருக்கும் உணவு கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்தில் உலக உணவு தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

✒️On October 16, 1847, the first operation using "Ether" was performed. World Anesthesia Day is observed on 16th October every year to honor this historic event in the medical world.

  • 1847ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 16ஆம் தேதி முதன்முறையாக ஈதர் பயன்படுத்தி அறுவை சிகிச்சை நடைபெற்றது. மருத்துவ உலகில் வரலாற்று முக்கியத்துவம் கொண்ட இந்த நிகழ்வை போற்றும் விதமாக ஆண்டுதோறும் அக்டோபர் 16ஆம் தேதி உலக மயக்கவியல் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபொம்மன் - Veerapandiya Kattabomman - Freedom Fighter - 18th-Century Tamil Palayakarrar :


✒️Today is his memorial day!

✒️Kattabomman, the Palayakkara king who fought against the British, was born on January 3, 1760 in Panchalankurichi. The British government decided to collect taxes from the villagers to maintain their rule. The British commander who collected taxes in the area could not collect taxes from Kattabomman. In 1797 British General Allen came with a large force to fight Kattabomman. Unable to demolish the fort, he ran away. Then Tirunelveli Collector Jackson invited Kattabomman to come and meet him. But Jackson, who asked Kattabomman to come to different places instead of meeting at a specific place, finally met at Ramanathapuram. Then, they tried to arrest Kattabomman. Kattabomman overcame it and returned safely to Panchalankurichi. During that meeting, Jackson urged him to pay taxes. Kattabomman boldly told him that we are independent kings, we don't need to pay tax to you. Seeing his bravery, all the surrounding villagers opposed the British. He was finally interrogated at Kayathar. He was hanged on 16th October, 1799 in kayathar, who is a symbol of valor even after many centuries.

  • ஆனால் குறிப்பிட்ட இடத்தில் சந்திக்காமல் வெவ்வேறு இடங்களுக்கு கட்டபொம்மனை வரச் சொல்லிய ஜாக்ஸன், இறுதியாக ராமநாதபுரத்தில் சந்தித்தார். அப்போது, கட்டபொம்மனை கைது செய்ய முயற்சித்தனர். கட்டபொம்மன் அதை முறியடித்து, பத்திரமாக பாஞ்சாலங்குறிச்சிக்கு திரும்பினார்.

🌟The National Security Guard Act, 1986 : It was enacted on 22nd september 1986 and came into force on 16th October 1986, to provide for the constitution and regulation of an armed force of the Union for combating terrorist activities with a view to protecting States against internal disturbances and for matters connected therewith.
