சர்வதேச பெண் குழந்தைகள் தினம் - International Day of the Girl Child :

✒️In order to promote the rights of the girl child and to recognize their achievements, the United Nations adopted a resolution in 2011. The council passed a resolution. Accordingly, it was decided to celebrate 11th October as International Day of the Girl Child. 'Giving importance to girl education' is the theme of this event.

• பெண் குழந்தைகளின் உரிமைகளை நிலைநாட்டவும், அவர்களின் சாதனைகளை அங்கீகரிக்கும் விதமாகவும், 2011ஆம் ஆண்டு ஐ.நா. சபை ஒரு தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றியது. அதன்படி, அக்டோபர் 11ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச பெண் குழந்தைகள் தினமாக கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. சாமுவேல் வேதநாயகம் பிள்ளை - Samuel Vedanayagam Pillai - Indian civil Servant - Tamil Poet - Novelist - Social Worker :

✒️Renowned Tamil writer and renaissance poet Samuel Vedanayagam Pillai was born on October 11, 1826 in Kulathur, Trichy District. He was known as Mayuram Vedanayagam Pillai as he served as Munsif of Mayuram district for 13 years. Morals, public justice, women's education, sense of unity, new ideas and progressive ideas were the themes of his poems. When there was a famine in Tamil Nadu, he donated all his property. Samuel Vedanayagam Pillai, Tamil's first novelist, innovator, renaissance poet and social reformer died on 21 July 1889.

• புகழ்பெற்ற தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர், மறுமலர்ச்சி கவிஞருமான சாமுவேல் வேதநாயகம் பிள்ளை 1826ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 11ஆம் தேதி திருச்சி மாவட்டம் குளத்தூரில் பிறந்தார்.

• மாயூரம் மாவட்ட முன்சீஃபாக 13 ஆண்டுகள் பணி புரிந்ததால், மாயூரம் வேதநாயகம் பிள்ளை என்றே அழைக்கப்பட்டார். வாழ்க்கை நெறிகள், பொது நீதிகள், பெண் கல்வி, ஒற்றுமை உணர்வு, புதிய சிந்தனைகள், முற்போக்கு கருத்துகள் ஆகியவை இவரது கவிதைகளின் கருப்பொருளாக அமைந்தன.

• தமிழகத்தில் பஞ்சம் ஏற்பட்டபோது, தன் சொத்துக்கள் அனைத்தையும் தானமாக வழங்கினார். தமிழின் முதல் புதினத்தைப் படைத்தவரும், மறுமலர்ச்சி கவிஞரும், சமூக சீர்திருத்தவாதியுமான சாமுவேல் வேதநாயகம் பிள்ளை 1889ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுலை 21ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

ஹென்ரிச் வில்லெம் ஒல்பெர்ஸ் - Heinrich Wilhelm Matthias Olbers - German Physician - Astronomer :

✒️German physician and astronomer Heinrich Wilhelm Olbers was born on October 11, 1758, who pioneered the ideas of modern cosmology. Discovered a method of predicting comets and the paths of comets. Discovered the asteroid rocks Pallas and Vesta. He had a passion for astronomy and died on March 2, 1840.

• தற்காலப் பேரண்டவியல் கருத்துகளுக்கு முன்னோடியாக அரிய சிந்தனையை எழுப்பிய ஜெர்மானிய மருத்துவர், வானவியலாளர் ஹென்ரிச் வில்லெம் ஒல்பெர்ஸ் 1758ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 11ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார்.

• வால் நட்சத்திரம் மற்றும் வால் நட்சத்திரங்கள் செல்லும் பாதைகளை கணிக்கும்முறையை கண்டறிந்தவர். சிறுகோள் பாறைகளான பல்லாஸ், வெஸ்டா ஆகியவற்றை கண்டறிந்தவர். வானவியலில் பேரார்வம் கொண்டிருந்த இவர் 1840ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 2ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

மற்ற நிகழ்வுகள் - Other Events :

🌟The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 : It was enacted on 11th october 1987 and came into force on 9th November 1995, to constitute legal services authorities to provide free and competent legal services to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by reason of economic or other disabilities, and to organise Lok Adalats to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on a basis of equal opportunity.

Certain Salient Features of the Act are enumerated below :-

Section 2 Definitions -

(1)... (c) 'legal service' includes the rendering of any service in the conduct any case or other legal proceeding before any court or other Authority or tribunal and the giving of advice on any legal matter;

(d) 'Lok Adalat' means a Lok Adalat organised under Chapter VI;

(g) 'scheme' means any scheme framed by the Central Authority, a State Authority or a District Authority for the purpose of giving effect to any of the provisions of this Act;

(h) 'State Authority' means a State Legal Services Authority constituted under Section 6;

(2) Any reference in this Act to any other enactment or any provision thereof shall, in relation to an area in which such enactment or provision is not in force, be construed as a reference to the corresponding law or the relevant provision of the corresponding law, if any, in force in that area.

Section 19 :

1. Central, State, District and Taluk Legal Services Authority has been created who are responsible for organizing Lok Adalats at such intervals and place.

2. Conciliators for Lok Adalat comprise the following: -

A. A sitting or retired judicial officer.

B. other persons of repute as may be prescribed by the State Government in consultation with the Chief Justice of High Court.

Section 20 : 

Cases can be referred for consideration of Lok Adalat as under:-

1. By consent of both the parties to the disputes.

2. One of the parties makes an application for reference.

3. Where the Court is satisfied that the matter is an appropriate one to be taken cognizance of by the Lok Adalat.

4. Compromise settlement shall be guided by the principles of justice, equity, fair play and other legal principles.

5. Where no compromise has been arrived at through conciliation, the matter shall be returned to the concerned court for disposal in accordance with Law.

Section 21:

After the agreement is arrived by the consent of the parties, award is passed by the conciliators. The matter need not be referred to the concerned Court for consent decree. The Act provisions envisages as under:

1. Every award of Lok Adalat shall be deemed as decree of Civil Court .

2. Every award made by the Lok Adalat shall be final and binding on all the parties to the dispute.

3. No appeal shall lie from the award of the Lok Adalat.

Section 22 :

Every proceedings of the Lok Adalat shall be deemed to be judicial proceedings for the purpose of :-

1. Summoning of Witnesses

2. Discovery of documents

3. Reception of evidences

4. Requisitioning of Public record.
