✒️National Road Safety Week is being observed in India from 11th to 17th January. The objective is to reduce accidents, avoid accidents and create awareness about precautionary measures.
- இந்திய அளவில் ஜனவரி 11 முதல் 17ஆம் தேதி வரை தேசிய சாலை பாதுகாப்பு வாரம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. விபத்துக்களைக் குறைப்பது, விபத்துகள் ஏற்படாமல் தவிர்ப்பது மற்றும் முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்து விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதே இத்தினத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.
திருப்பூர் குமரன் - Tiruppur Kumaran (Kodi Kaatha Kumaran) - Indian Revolutionary and Freedom Fighter :
✒️Today is his Memorial Day!
✒️Tiruppur Kumaran, a martyr of Indian freedom struggle, was born on 4th October 1904 in Chennimalai, Erode district. Kumaran was a patriot at a young age. Motivated by the desire for liberation, he participated demonstrations in Tiruppur. Later he led many protests. In January 1932, a protest took place in the land of Tamil Nadu, known for its bravery, in support of Gandhiji's civil disobedience movement. This was the historical event that determined Kumaran's destiny. During the demonstration, he was attacked by the guards and fell unconscious with the Indian national flag in his hand. After that, he was admitted to the hospital and died on 11th January 1932. While dying he holding the flag in his hand, hence, he was called as 'Kodikatha Kumaran' (Kumaran who protected the flag). - இன்று இவரின் நினைவு தினம் !
- இந்திய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட தியாகி திருப்பூர் குமரன் 1904ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 4ஆம் தேதி ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் சென்னிமலையில் பிறந்தார். இளம் வயதிலேயே நாட்டுப்பற்று மிக்கவராகத் திகழ்ந்தார் குமரன். விடுதலை வேட்கையால் உந்தப்பட்டு திருப்பூரில் நடந்த அறப்போராட்டங்களில் கலந்து கொண்டார். பின்னர் பல போராட்டங்களுக்கு தலைமையேற்றார். 1932ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரியில், காந்தியடிகளின் சட்ட மறுப்பு இயக்கத்துக்கு ஆதரவாக தமிழக மண்ணில் போராட்டம் நடந்தது. இதுவே குமரனின் தலையெழுத்தை தீர்மானிக்கும் சரித்திர நிகழ்வாக அமைந்தது. இப்போராட்டத்தில் காவலர்களால் தாக்கப்பட்டு கையில் இந்திய தேசியக்கொடியை ஏந்தியப்படி மயங்கி விழுந்தார். அதன்பின், மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்ட இவர் 1932ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 11ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார். இதனால், இவர் கொடிகாத்த குமரன் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.
லால் பகதூர் சாஸ்திரி - Lal Bahadur Shastri - Former & Second Prime Minister of India :
✒️Today is his Memorial Day!
✒️Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Prime Minister of India, was born on October 2, 1904 in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. Following the call of Gandhiji, he stopped his studies and fought for the freedom of the country. He participated in Non-Cooperation Movement, Salt Satyagraha, Quit India Movement. He worked effectively in many positions like Home Minister, Transport Minister. He created the National Dairy Development Department and laid the foundation for the White Revolution. Became Prime Minister of India after Nehru's death. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna as a leader of the common people. Historical hero Lal Bahadur Shastri passed away on 11th January 1966.

- இந்திய குடியரசின் முன்னாள் பிரதமர் லால் பகதூர் சாஸ்திரி 1904ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 2ஆம் தேதி உத்தரப்பிரதேச மாநிலத்திலுள்ள முகல்சராய் என்ற ஊரில் பிறந்தார். காந்தியடிகளின் அழைப்பிற்கு இணங்க இவர் தனது படிப்பை நிறுத்திக் கொண்டு நாட்டின் சுதந்திரத்திற்காக போராடினார். இவர் ஒத்துழையாமை இயக்கம், உப்பு சத்தியாக்கிரகம், வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு இயக்கத்தில் பங்கு கொண்டுள்ளார். இவர் உள்துறை அமைச்சர், போக்குவரத்துத்துறை அமைச்சர் போன்ற பல பதவிகளில் திறம்பட செயலாற்றினார். தேசிய பால்பண்ணை வளர்ச்சி துறையை உண்டாக்கி வெண்மைப் புரட்சிக்கான அடித்தளமிட்டார். நேருவின் மறைவுக்குப் பின்னர் இந்தியாவின் பிரதமர் ஆனார். எளியவர்களின் தலைவராக திகழ்ந்த இவருக்கு பாரத ரத்னா விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. வரலாற்று நாயகர் லால் பகதூர் சாஸ்திரி 1966ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 11ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

ராகுல் டிராவிட் - Rahul Sharad Dravid - Former Indian Cricketer and Captain of the Indian National Team (currently serving as its head coach) :
✒️Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid was born on 11 January 1973 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He started playing for the Indian team in 1996 and was appointed as the captain of the Indian cricket team in October 2005. Dravid won the Player of the Year and Test Player of the Year awards in his inaugural year (2004). He has received many awards like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. He is called 'The Wall' because of his ability to stand and bat for a long time. (Dravid is currently the head coach of the Indian cricket team).
- இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் ராகுல் டிராவிட் 1973ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 11ஆம் தேதி மத்தியப் பிரதேசத்திலுள்ள இந்தூரில் பிறந்தார். 1996ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய அணி சார்பாக ஆடத் தொடங்கிய இவர், அக்டோபர் 2005ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணித்தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். டிராவிட் சிறந்த ஆட்டக்காரர் மற்றும் சிறந்த டெஸ்ட் ஆட்டக்காரர் ஆகிய விருதுகளை தொடக்க ஆண்டிலேயே (2004) வென்றார். இவர் பத்மஸ்ரீ விருது, பத்ம பூஷண் போன்ற பல விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார். நீண்ட நேரத்திற்கு நின்று பேட் செய்யக்கூடிய திறனைப்பார்த்து இவரை 'தி வால்' என்று அழைப்பார்கள். (டிராவிட் தற்போது இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் அணியின் தலைமை பயிற்சியாளராக உள்ளார்).
