தேசிய கடல்சார் தினம் - National Maritime Day :

✒️National Maritime Day is observed on 5th April every year in India. This event is held to showcase the great work of the shipping industry to the society. India's first steam ship (SS LOYALTY SHIP) sailed from Mumbai to London on 5th April 1919, to commemorate that too National Maritime Day was celebrated for the first time on 5th April 1964.

✒️இந்தியாவில் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஏப்ரல் 5ஆம் தேதி தேசிய கடல்சார் தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. கப்பல் துறையின் மகத்தான பணிகளை சமூகத்திற்கு வெளிப்படுத்தவே இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்தியாவின் முதல் நீராவிக் கப்பல் (எஸ்.எஸ்.லாயல்டி கப்பல் - SS LOYALTY SHIP) 1919ஆம் ஆண்டு, ஏப்ரல் மாதம் 5ஆம் தேதி மும்பையிலிருந்து லண்டனுக்குச் சென்றது. அதனை நினைவுக்கூறும் வகையில் 1964ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 5ஆம் தேதி முதல்முறையாக தேசிய கடல்சார் தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

Joseph Lister - Surgeon & Scientist

ஜோசப் லிஸ்டர் - Joseph Lister - British Surgeon - Scientist (Experimental pathologist and a Pioneer of Antiseptic Surgery and Preventative Medicine) :

✒️The father of surgery, Joseph Lister was born on April 5, 1827 in the village of Upton, England. His father was Joseph Jackson Lister, the inventor of the modern magnifying glass. He read Louis Pasteur's essay on disease-causing bacteria. There are germs in the air that ferment things. That is why he knew that poison spreads through wounds. He studied and found that germs could be destroyed by boiling surgical instruments. He learned that tools could be purified with carboxylic acid, now called phenol. He developed antiseptic surgery. He was awarded the Order of Merit for the first time in the medical world. He also received many titles, medals and awards. Joseph Lister, hailed as the pioneer of surgery, died on February 10, 1912.

✒️அறுவை சிகிச்சையின் தந்தை, ஜோசப் லிஸ்டர் 1827ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 5ஆம் தேதி இங்கிலாந்தின் அப்டான் கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவரது தந்தை நவீன உருப்பெருக்கியை உருவாக்கிய ஜோசப் ஜாக்சன் லிஸ்டர் ஆவார். இவர் லூயிஸ் பாஸ்டர் எழுதிய நோய்களை உண்டாக்கும் பாக்டீரியாக்கள் பற்றிய கட்டுரையை படித்தார். அதில் பொருட்களை புளிக்கச் செய்யும் கிருமிகள் காற்றில் உள்ளன. அதனால்தான் காயங்களில் விஷம் பரவுகிறது என்பதை அறிந்தார். அறுவை சிகிச்சைக்குப் பயன்படுத்தும் கருவிகளைக் கொதிக்க வைப்பதன் மூலம் நுண்கிருமிகளை அழிக்க முடியும் என ஆய்வு செய்து கண்டறிந்தார். தற்போது பினாயில் என்றழைக்கப்படும் கார்பாலிக் அமிலத்தால் கருவிகளை சுத்திகரிக்க முடியும் என்பதை அறிந்தார். இவர் ஆன்டிசெப்டிக் அறுவை சிகிச்சை முறையை உருவாக்கினார். மருத்துவ உலகிலேயே முதன்முதலாக இவருக்கு ஆர்டர் ஆஃப் மெரிட் விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது. இவர் ஏராளமான பட்டங்கள், பதக்கங்கள், விருதுகளையும் பெற்றார். அறுவை சிகிச்சையின் முன்னோடி எனப் போற்றப்படும் ஜோசப் லிஸ்டர் 1912ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 10ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟1957ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 5ஆம் தேதி விடுதலை அடைந்த நேரத்தில் தமிழ்நாட்டின் உயர்கல்வி வளர்ச்சிக்காக பல கல்விச்சாலைகளை நிறுவிய ராம. அழகப்பச் செட்டியார் மறைந்தார் - On April 5, 1957, at the time of the country's independence, Rama Alagappa Chettiar, who established many educational institutions for the development of higher education in Tamil Nadu, was passed away.

🌟1908ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 5ஆம் தேதி இந்திய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரரும், சமூகச் சீர்திருத்தவாதியுமான ஜெகஜீவன்ராம், பீகார் மாநிலத்தில் பிறந்தார் - Jagjivan Ram, Indian freedom fighter and social reformer was born on April 5, 1908 in Bihar.
