தேசிய பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ் தினம் - National Panchayati Raj Day :

✒️The Panchayat Raj Act was brought by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. This Act was introduced on 24th April 1992. The purpose of Panchayat Raj is to decentralize power. Panchayats are all very powerful people-ruled bodies. If Panchayats are strong then government administration will function well. On this day an award is given to the best panchayat leader.

பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ் சட்டத்தை முன்னாள் பிரதமர் ராஜீவ் காந்தி கொண்டு வந்தார். 1992ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 24ஆம் தேதி இச்சட்டம் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ்ஜின் நோக்கம் அதிகாரத்தைப் பரவலாக்குவதுதான். மக்கள் ஆளும் பஞ்சாயத்து அமைப்புகள் அனைத்துமே மிக வலிமையானவை. பஞ்சாயத்துகள் வலுவாக இருந்தால்தான் அரசு நிர்வாகம் சிறப்பாக செயல்படும். இத்தினத்தில் சிறந்த பஞ்சாயத்து தலைவருக்கான விருது வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

உலக ஆய்வக விலங்குகள் தினம் - World Day for Laboratory Animals :

✒️Animals are used for research in laboratories worldwide. They conduct biomedical research on animals. As a result animals are subjected to violence and harassment. The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS) declared April 24 as World Laboratory Animal Day in 1979 to prevent the torture of laboratory animals.

உலகளவில் ஆய்வுக்கூடங்களில் விலங்குகளை ஆய்விற்காகப் பயன்படுத்துகின்றனர். விலங்குகளின் மீது உயிரி மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சி செய்கின்றனர். இதனால் விலங்குகள் வன்முறை மற்றும் துன்புறுத்தலுக்கு ஆளாகின்றன. ஆய்வக விலங்குகள் சித்திரவதைக்குள்ளாவதை தடுக்க தேசிய எதிர்ப்பு விவிசெக்ஸன் சங்கம் (National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS)) 1979ஆம் ஆண்டில், ஏப்ரல் 24ஆம் தேதியை உலக ஆய்வக விலங்குகள் தினமாக அறிவித்தது.

G.U.Pope - Scholar

ஜி.யு.போப் - George Uglow Pope - Missionary - Tamil Scholar (Who translated many Tamil texts into English including Thirukkural and Thiruvasagam) :

✒️George Uglow Pope, who translated many Tamil books into English and contributed to Tamil, was born on April 24, 1820 in Prince Edward Island, Canada. He came to Tamil Nadu in 1839 for religious work. Along with religious work, he also did educational and Tamil work in Thanjavur, Udhagamandalam and Bangalore. In 1886, he translated "Tirukkural" into English. Similarly, he has translated many books into English. G.U.Pope, who was a great philanthropist for Tamil, passed away on February 11, 1908.

ஏராளமான தமிழ் நூல்களை ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழிப்பெயர்த்து தமிழுக்கு தொண்டாற்றிய ஜார்ஜ் உக்லோ போப் 1820ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 24ஆம் தேதி கனடாவின் பிரின்ஸ் எட்வர்ட் தீவில் பிறந்தார். இவர் 1839ஆம் ஆண்டு சமயப் பணிக்காக தமிழகம் வந்தார். தஞ்சை, உதகமண்டலம், பெங்களூரில் சமயப் பணியோடு, கல்விப்பணி, தமிழ்ப்பணியையும் மேற்கொண்டார். இவர் 1886ஆம் ஆண்டு திருக்குறளை ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழிப்பெயர்த்தார். இதேபோல் பல நூல்களை ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழிப்பெயர்த்துள்ளார். தமிழுக்குப் பெரும் தொண்டாற்றிய ஜி.யு.போப் 1908ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 11ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

சச்சின் டெண்டுல்கர் - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar - Renowned Indian Cricketer :

✒️The world famous Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar was born on 24th April 1973 in Mumbai. He first scored 100 runs in an inter-state match at the age of 15. He started his Test cricket career at the age of 16, taking the field against Pakistan. He was awarded Man of the Match for 10+ Tests and 50+ ODIs. He has also received many man of the series awards. He is the highest run scorer in the World Cup (1996). He was elected as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha in 2012. In 2014, his autobiographical book "Playing It My Way" was released. He retired with his 200th Test match. He has received many awards like Padma Vibhushan, Padma Shri, Arjuna, Bharat Ratna, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna.

உலக புகழ்பெற்ற இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் வீரர், சச்சின் டெண்டுல்கர் 1973ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 24ஆம் தேதி மும்பையில் பிறந்தார். இவர் முதன்முதலாக 15-வது வயதில் மாநிலங்களுக்கு இடையேயான போட்டியில் விளையாடி 100 ரன்கள் எடுத்தார். பாகிஸ்தானுக்கு எதிராக களம் இறங்கி, 16-வது வயதில் டெஸ்ட் கிரிக்கெட் வாழ்க்கையை தொடங்கினார். டெஸ்ட் போட்டியில் 10க்கும் மேலும், ஒருநாள் போட்டியில் 50க்கும் மேலும் ஆட்ட நாயகன் விருது பெற்றார். மேலும் பல தொடர் நாயகன் விருதுகளையும் பெற்றுள்ளார். உலக கோப்பை (1996) போட்டிகளில் அதிக ரன்கள் குவித்த வீரர் என்ற பெருமைக்குரியவர். 2012ஆம் ஆண்டு மாநிலங்களவை நியமன உறுப்பினராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். 2014ஆம் ஆண்டு இவரது பிளேயிங் இட் மை வே (Playing It My Way) என்ற சுயசரிதை நூல் வெளிவந்தது. இவர் 200-வது டெஸ்ட் போட்டியுடன் ஓய்வு பெற்றார். இவர் பத்ம விபூஷண், பத்மஸ்ரீ, அர்ஜுனா, பாரத ரத்னா, ராஜீவ்காந்தி கேல் ரத்னா, என ஏராளமான விருதுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்.

🌟சிறந்த தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்களில் ஒருவரான ஜெயகாந்தன் 1934 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 24 ஆம் தேதி கடலூரில் பிறந்தார் - Jayakanthan, one of the greatest Tamil writers, was born on 24 April 1934 in Cuddalore.
