Ramaswamy Reddiyar" The Politician, Freedom fighter and Former Chief Minister of Madras Presidency, whose birthday is celebrating today and the Next Icon was "Kalpana Chawla", whose memorial date observe today, she was an Indian born American astronaut, Engineer and the First woman of Indian origin to go to space. Apart from the above another two incidents also happens today, it's all about "India's Railway Museum" and "Oxford English Dictionary"...

O.P.Ramaswamy Reddiyar - Chief Minister of Madras Presidency

ஓமந்தூர் ராமசாமி ரெட்டியார் - O.P.Ramaswamy Reddiyar - Politician - Freedom Fighter - Former Chief Minister of Madras Presidency :

✒️Freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Madras Presidency, Omandur Ramasamy Reddiar was born on 1st February 1895 in Omandur village near Tindivanam. He started participating in the freedom struggle at a very young age. He played a major role in annexing Hyderabad to India after India's independence. He was the Chief Minister of Chennai Province from 23 March 1947 to 6 April 1949. During his reign, the Tamil Nadu Temple Entry Authorisation Act, was enacted in 1947. Also, he abolished the zamindar system and took measures against corruption. After stepping down as chief minister, his mind turned towards spirituality and social service. Inspired by Vallalar, he joined himself in Samarasa Suddha Sanmargam. He founded many charitable organizations. Admired as an honest and courageous politician, he died on 25th August 1970.

• விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரரும், சென்னையின் முன்னாள் முதல்வருமான ஓமந்தூர் ராமசாமி ரெட்டியார் 1895ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 1ஆம் தேதி திண்டிவனம் அருகே உள்ள ஓமந்தூர் கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். 

• இவர் மிக இளம்வயதிலேயே சுதந்திரப் போராட்டத்தில் ஈடுபடத் தொடங்கிவிட்டார். இந்தியா சுதந்திரம் பெற்றவுடன் ஹைதராபாத்தை இந்தியாவுடன் இணைப்பதில் பெரும் பங்காற்றினார்.

• இவர் சென்னை மாகாணத்தின் முதலமைச்சராக 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 23ஆம் தேதி முதல் 1949ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 6ஆம் தேதி வரை பதவியில் இருந்தார். இவரது ஆட்சிக்காலத்தில் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டோர் கோவிலுக்குள் செல்வதற்கான முழு உரிமை அதிகாரச் சட்டம் 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு இயற்றப்பட்டது. மேலும், இவர் ஜமீன்தார் இனமுறையை ஒழித்தார், ஊழலுக்கு எதிரான நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுத்தார்.

• முதல்வர் பதவியிலிருந்து விலகிய பிறகு இவரது மனம் ஆன்மீகத்திலும், சமூக சேவையிலும் நாட்டம் கொண்டது. வள்ளலாரால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, சமரச சுத்த சன்மார்க்கத்தில் தன்னை இணைத்துக்கொண்டார். பல தொண்டு அமைப்புகளை நிறுவினார்.

• நேர்மையும், துணிச்சலும் மிக்க அரசியல்வாதியாகப் போற்றப்படும் இவர், 1970ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 25ந் தேதி  மறைந்தார்.

கல்பனா சாவ்லா - Kalpana Chawla - Indian-born American Astronaut - Engineer - First woman of Indian origin to go into Space :

✒️Today is Chawla's memorial day! India's first female astronaut Kalpana Chawla was born on March 17, 1962 in Karnal, Haryana. (Her school certificates shows that she was born on July 1, 1961). She made the first spacewalk in 1997 with a crew of six aboard the Columbia spacecraft STS-87. The spacecraft spent 16 days of research in space and circled the Earth 252 times. Again in 2003, a crew of seven including Kalpana went aboard the Columbia spacecraft STS-107. On February 1, about 15 minutes before landing, the shuttle exploded and seven people died including Kalpana. Kalpana Chawla who conquered the sky passed away on February 1, 2003 (today) at the age of 40. To honor her, the Government of Karnataka and the Government of India have been giving awards in her name to women achievers.

• இன்று இவரின் நினைவு தினம் !

• இந்தியாவின் முதல் விண்வெளி வீராங்கனை கல்பனா சாவ்லா 1962ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 17ஆம் தேதி ஹரியானா மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள கர்னால் என்ற நகரத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவருடைய பள்ளி சான்றிதழ்களில் 1961ஆம் ஆண்டு, ஜூலை 1ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார் என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• இவர் 1997ஆம் ஆண்டு கொலம்பிய விண்கலம் எஸ்.டி.எஸ்-87ல் ஆறு வீரர்கள் கொண்ட குழுவுடன் முதல் முறையாக விண்வெளிக்கு சென்றார். இந்த விண்கலம் விண்வெளியில் 16 நாட்கள் ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்டு 252 தடவை பூமியைச் சுற்றியது. 

• மீண்டும் 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு கொலம்பியா விண்கலம் எஸ்.டி.எஸ்-107ல் கல்பனா உள்ளிட்ட ஏழு வீரர்கள் அடங்கிய குழு சென்றனர். பிப்ரவரி 1ஆம் தேதி, பயணம் முடித்து தரையிறங்குவதற்கு சுமார் 15 நிமிடங்கள் இருந்தபோது, விண்கலம் வெடித்துச் சிதறியது. இதில் கல்பனா உட்பட ஏழு பேரும் உயிரிழந்தனர். 

• வானத்தை வசப்படுத்திய கல்பனா சாவ்லா 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 1ந் தேதி (இன்று) தனது 40வது வயதில் மறைந்தார். இவரை கௌரவிக்கும் விதமாக கர்நாடக அரசும், இந்திய அரசும் சாதனை புரியும் பெண்களுக்கு இவரது பெயரில் விருது வழங்கி வருகிறது.

குவாண்டம் இயக்கவியல் கோட்பாட்டின் முக்கிய முன்னோடிகளில் ஒருவரானவர், பிப்ரவரி 1, 1976 அன்று காலமானார் - Werner Heisenberg

German physicist, Nobel Laureate, one of the main pioneers of the theory of quantum mechanics, was passed away on 1st february 1976.

🌟 1977ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 1ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவின் முதல் இரயில்வே அருங்காட்சியகம் சாணக்கியபுரி, புதுடில்லியில் திறக்கப்பட்டது - On 1st February 1977, India's first Railway Museum was opened at Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

🌟 1884ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 1ஆம் தேதி ஆக்ஸ்ஃபோர்டு ஆங்கில அகராதியின் முதல் பதிப்பு வெளியானது - On 1st February, 1884, the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary was published.
