An Overview About Today's World History :

உலக வறுமை ஒழிப்பு தினம் - International Day for the Eradication of Poverty :

✒️Every year on 17th October, World Poverty Eradication Day is observed all over the world. It was observed for the first time in 1987 in Paris, France. Since 1992, the United Nations has officially announced 17th October as the Poverty Eradication Day to raise awareness about poverty worldwide and free people from hunger. Its purpose is to unite all people to eradicate poverty.

• ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் அக்டோபர் 17ஆம் தேதி உலக வறுமை ஒழிப்பு தினம் உலகம் முழுவதும் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

• இத்தினம் 1987ஆம் ஆண்டு முதன்முதலாக பிரான்சின் பாரிஸ் நகரில் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. உலக அளவில் வறுமை தொடர்பான விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தி பசிக்கொடுமையிலிருந்து மக்களை விடுவிப்பதற்காக ஐ.நா.சபை 1992ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் அக்டோபர் 17ஆம் தேதியை வறுமை ஒழிப்பு தினமாக அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவித்தது. இதன் நோக்கம் வறுமையை போக்க அனைத்து மக்களும் ஒன்று சேர வேண்டும் என்பதாகும்.

கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் - Kannadasan - Indian philosopher - poet - film song lyricist - producer -  actor - script-writer - editor - philanthropist :

✒️Today is his memorial day!

✒️ Kannadasan, who is in the hearts of Tamil people, was born on June 24, 1927 in Sirukodalpatti, Sivaganga district. His original name is Muthiah. When he was a child, he used to write and sing even everyday events in the form of poetry. His first story named "Nilavoliyilea" (Moonlight) published in Grihalakshmi magazine. "Kannadasan", "Karai Muthupulavar", "Vanangamudi", "Kamagapriya", "Parvathinathan" and "Arogyasamy" are his nicknames. He has written more than four thousand poems and more than five thousand film songs. He has acted in films like "Parashakthi", "Ratath Thilagam", "Karuppu Panam", "Suriyakanthi". He has written kappiyam's including "Yesu Kaviyam", "Pandimadevi", "Kannadasan Kavithaigal" and short literature including "Ambigai Azhaghu Dharisanam", and "Arthamulla Indhumadham." Kaviarasar, who brought the deep secrets of life to the common man through his simple lines, passed away on 17th October 1981.

• பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான தமிழ் மக்களின் நெஞ்சத்தில் நீங்கா இடம்பெற்ற கவியரசு கண்ணதாசன் 1927ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 24ஆம் தேதி சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம் சிறுகூடல்பட்டியில் பிறந்தார். இவரின் இயற்பெயர் முத்தையா.

• இவர் சிறுவனாக இருக்கும்போது, அன்றாட நிகழ்வுகளைக்கூட கவிதை வடிவில் எழுதி பாடிக் கொண்டிருப்பாராம். இவரது முதல் படைப்பு கிரகலட்சுமி பத்திரிக்கையில் வெளிவந்த "நிலவொளியிலே" என்பதுதான்.

• கண்ணதாசன், காரை முத்துப்புலவர், வணங்காமுடி, கமகப்பிரியா, பார்வதிநாதன், ஆரோக்கியசாமி ஆகியவை இவருடைய புனைப்பெயர்கள் ஆகும்.

• நான்காயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட கவிதைகள், ஐந்தாயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட திரைப்பட பாடல்களை எழுதியுள்ளார். பராசக்தி, ரத்தத் திலகம், கருப்புப் பணம், சூரியகாந்தி உள்ளிட்ட படங்களில் நடித்துள்ளார். 

• இயேசு காவியம், பாண்டிமாதேவி உள்ளிட்ட காப்பியங்கள், கண்ணதாசன் கவிதைகள், அம்பிகை அழகு தரிசனம் உள்ளிட்ட சிற்றிலக்கியங்கள், அர்த்தமுள்ள இந்துமதம் ஆகியவற்றை படைத்துள்ளார். 

• ஆழமான வாழ்க்கை ரகசியங்களை தன்னுடைய எளிமையான வரிகள் மூலம் பாமர மக்களுக்கு கொண்டு சேர்த்த கவியரசர் 1981ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 17ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

மற்ற நிகழ்வுகள் - Other Events :

🌟The Companies (Donations to National Funds) Act, 1951: It was enacted & enforced on 17th October 1951, to enable companies to make donations to national funds.

🌟The International Finance Corporation (Status, Immunities and Privileges) Act, 1958 : It was enacted & enforced 17th October 1958, to implement the international agreement for the establishment and operation of the International Finance Corporation in so far as it relates to the status, immunities and privileges of that Corporation, and for matters connected therewith.

🌟World Trauma Day is celebrated on 17th October every year. The day is observed to curb the increasing rate of accidents and injuries that cause death and disability worldwide.

🌟சீனாவின் கடைசி பேரரசரான புயி, 1961 ஆம் ஆண்டு பெய்ஜிங்கில் தனது 61வது வயதில் இறந்தார் - Puyi, the last emperor of China, died in Beijing in 1961 at the age of 61.

🌟 1970ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்திய கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் அனில் கும்ப்ளே கர்நாடகாவிலுள்ள பெங்களூரில் பிறந்தார் - Indian cricketer Anil Kumble was born on October 17, 1970 in Bangalore, Karnataka.

🌟 1780ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 17ஆம் தேதி அமெரிக்காவின் முன்னாள் துணை ஜனாதிபதியான ரிச்சர்ட் மென்டர் ஜான்சன் பிறந்தார் - Richard Mentor Johnson, former Vice President of the United States, was born on October 17, 1780.
