✒️Shark Awareness Day is celebrated on 14th July. The day was created to create awareness and understanding about sharks. Sharks predate the dinosaurs and are estimated to have been around for over 400 million years! This powerful creature plays an important role in keeping our oceans healthy.

• ஜூலை 14ந் தேதியன்று சுறா விழிப்புணர்வு தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. சுறா பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வையும், புரிதலையும் ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக இந்நாள் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. டைனோசர்களுக்கு முன்பே சுறாக்கள் உள்ளன, அவைகள் கிட்டதட்ட 400 மில்லியன் ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் மேலாக இருந்ததாக மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது! இந்த சக்திவாய்ந்த உயிரினம் நம் பெருங்கடல்களை ஆரோக்கியமாக வைத்திருப்பதில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகிக்கிறது.

வா.செ.குழந்தைசாமி - V.C.Kulandaiswamy - Academician - Engineer - Author :

✒️Indian engineering scholar V.C.Kulandaiswamy was born on July 14, 1929 in vangapalayam, Karur district. His innovation in water resources is known as the Kulandaiswamy model. He has held many important positions at the global level, including being a member of the UNESCO Water Resources Planning Committee. He has served as Director of Technical Education in Tamil Nadu, Professor of Water Resources Department and Vice-Chancellor of Chennai Anna, Madurai Kamaraj and Indira Gandhi National Open University. He has written more than a hundred research articles on hydrology, water resources, education etc. He is very creative and interested in Tamil literature. He is a recipient of Tamil Nadu government's Thiruvalluvar Award, Sahitya Akademi Award for his contribution to Tamil literature, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan for his contribution to education and science. A multifaceted personality, V.C.Kulandaiswamy passed away on 10th December 2016.

• இந்திய பொறியியல் அறிஞர் வா.செ.குழந்தைசாமி 1929ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 14ஆம் தேதி கரூர் மாவட்டம் வாங்கபாளையத்தில் பிறந்தார்.

• நீர்வளத்துறையில் இவரது கண்டுபிடிப்பு குழந்தைசாமி மாதிரியம் எனப்படுகிறது. இவர் யுனெஸ்கோ நீர்வளத்துறைத் திட்டக்குழு உறுப்பினர் உட்பட உலக அளவில் பல முக்கிய பதவிகளை வகித்துள்ளார்.

• தமிழக தொழில்நுட்பக் கல்வி இயக்குநர், நீர்வளத்துறை பேராசிரியர் போன்ற பொறுப்புகளிலும், சென்னை அண்ணா, மதுரை காமராஜர், இந்திரா காந்தி தேசிய திறந்தநிலைப் பல்கலைக்கழகம் ஆகியவற்றின் துணைவேந்தராகவும் இருந்தவர்.

• நீரியல், நீர்வளம், கல்வி போன்றவை தொடர்பாக நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை எழுதியுள்ளார். தமிழ் இலக்கியத்தில் ஆர்வமும், படைப்பாற்றலும் மிக்கவர்.

• தமிழக அரசின் திருவள்ளுவர் விருது, தமிழ் இலக்கிய பங்களிப்பிற்காக சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது, கல்வி, அறிவியல் துறை பங்களிப்பிற்காக பத்மஸ்ரீ, பத்ம பூஷண் விருது பெற்றவர். 

• பன்முக ஆளுமை திறன் கொண்ட வா.செ.குழந்தைசாமி 2016ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 10ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
