வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர் தினம் - Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (NRI day) :
✒️Indians living abroad are also striving for the economic development and social progress of India. Non Resident Indian Day is celebrated on 9th January to honor their contribution. Mahatma Gandhi returned from South Africa to India on January 9, 1915 (Mumbai). In 2002, 9th January was chosen as Overseas Indian Day based on Gandhi's return home. This has been observed since 2003.
- வெளிநாடுகளில் வாழும் இந்தியர்களும், இந்திய நாட்டின் பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சிக்கும், சமூக முன்னேற்றத்திற்கும் பாடுபடுகின்றனர். அவர்களின் பங்களிப்பை போற்றும் வகையில் ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. மகாத்மா காந்தி தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவில் இருந்து ஜனவரி 9, 1915ஆம் ஆண்டு (மும்பை) இந்தியா திரும்பினார். காந்தி தாயகம் திரும்பிய நாளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி வெளிநாடு வாழ் இந்தியர் தினமாக 2002ஆம் ஆண்டு தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டது. 2003ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

✒️International Choreographers Day is celebrated on 9th January every year to recognize and honor those who help dance, perform and entertain around the world.
- உலகம் முழுவதும் நடனம் ஆடவும், பங்கேற்கவும், மகிழ்விக்கவும் உதவுபவர்களை அங்கீகரித்து கவுரவிப்பதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச நடன கலைஞர்கள் தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

ஹர் கோவிந்த் குரானா - Har Gobind Khorana - Indian American Biochemist & Nobel Laureate :
✒️Khorana, a molecular biologist, was born on January 9, 1922 in the village of Raipur, Punjab. In 1959, he produced a chemical called coenzyme-A, which is essential for some processes in the human body. A related study found that some hereditary diseases can be cured. He and Nirenberg and Halley were jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1968 for this study. Also, his group was involved in studies such as genetic code and genetics of Escherichia coli. Then they artificially created about 207 genes of this microorganism. He also played a major role in the synthetic production of protein. Har Gobind Khorana, the scientific genius who produced genes in the laboratory for the first time, passed away on November 9, 2011.
- மூலக்கூறு உயிரியல் விஞ்ஞானியான குரானா 1922ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி பஞ்சாப் மாநிலத்தின் ராய்ப்பூர் கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவர் 1959ஆம் ஆண்டு மனித உடலின் சில செயல்முறைகளுக்கு இன்றியமையாத இணைநொதி-ஏ (coenzyme-A) என்ற வேதிப்பொருளை உற்பத்தி செய்தார். இது தொடர்பான ஆய்வு மூலம் மரபுவழியிலான சில நோய்களைக் குணப்படுத்த முடியும் என்று கண்டறியப்பட்டது. இந்த ஆய்வுக்காக 1968ஆம் ஆண்டு இவருக்கும் நிரென்பர்க், ஹாலி ஆகிய இருவருக்கும் மருத்துவத்திற்கான நோபல் பரிசு கூட்டாக வழங்கப்பட்டது. மேலும் மரபுக்குறியீடு (Genetic code), எஸ்கிரிஷியா கோலி (Escherichia coli) என்னும் நுண்ணுயிரிகளின் மரபணு உருவாக்கம் போன்ற ஆய்வுகளில் இவருடைய குழுவினரும் ஈடுபட்டனர். அதன்பின் இந்த நுண்ணுயிரியின், சுமார் 207 மரபணுக்களை இவர்கள் செயற்கையாக உருவாக்கினர். புரதத்தை செயற்கையாக உற்பத்தி செய்வதிலும் இவர் மகத்தான பங்காற்றியுள்ளார். முதன்முறையாக செயற்கை முறையில் மரபணுக்களை ஆய்வுக்கூடத்தில் உற்பத்தி செய்த அறிவியல் மேதை ஹர் கோவிந்த் குரானா 2011ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 9ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟 ஐ.நா. தலைமையகம் நியூயார்க்கில் 1951ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி அதிகாரபூர்வமாகத் திறக்கப்பட்டது - The UN Headquarters officially opened in New York on 9 January, 1951.
🌟1990ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 9ஆம் தேதி நாசாவின் கொலம்பியா விண்கலம் ஏவப்பட்டது - NASA Space Shuttle Columbia was launched on 9 January, 1990.
