✒️The United Nations has declared June 20 as World Refugee Day since 2000 in order to protect the rights of those who have left their country without a way to live due to natural disasters, civil war, religious conflict, ethnic conflict, etc.
✒️இயற்கைப் பேரழிவுகள், உள்நாட்டுப்போர், மதக்கலவரம், இனக்கலவரம், போன்ற காரணங்களால் தங்கள் நாட்டில் வாழ்வதற்கு வழி இல்லாமல் வெளியேறுபவர்களின் உரிமையை பாதுகாக்க வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கில் 2000ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து ஜூன் 20ஆம் தேதி உலக அகதிகள் தினமாக ஐ.நா.சபை அறிவித்தது.

விக்ரம் சேத் - Vikram Seth - Novelist & Poet :
✒️India's famous novelist and poet Vikram Seth was born on 20 June 1952 in Kolkata. He published his first poetry collection titled 'Mappings'. He wrote novels including 'From Heaven Lake', 'The Golden Gate', 'A Suitable Boy' and poems including 'Beastly Tales', 'The Frog and the Nightingale' and also he has written travel books and touched many fields in his writings. He has received numerous awards such as 'Thomas Cook Travel Book Award', 'Commonwealth Poetry Award' (Asia), 'Sahitya Academy' (English), 'Irish Times International Fiction Prize', 'Padma Shri'. He is multi-talented as a poet, novelist and biographer who is turning 74 today.
✒️இந்தியாவின் புகழ்பெற்ற நாவலாசிரியரும், கவிஞருமான விக்ரம் சேத் 1952ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 20ஆம் தேதி கொல்கத்தாவில் பிறந்தார். இவரது முதல் கவிதைத் தொகுப்பை மேப்பிங்ஸ் (Mappings) என்ற பெயரில் வெளியிட்டார். இவர் 'ஃபிரம் ஹெவன் லேக்' (From Heaven Lake), 'தி கோல்டன் கேட்' (The Golden Gate), 'எ சூட்டபிள் பாய்' (A Suitable Boy) உள்ளிட்ட நாவல்கள், 'பீஸ்ட்லி டேல்ஸ்' (Beastly Tales), 'தி ஃப்ராக் அண்ட் தி நைட்டிங்கேல் (The Frog and the Nightingale)' உள்ளிட்ட கவிதைகள், பயண நூல்கள் என பல துறைகளில் எழுதியுள்ளார். 'தாமஸ் குக் பயண நூல் விருது', 'காமன்வெல்த் கவிதை விருது' (ஆசியா), 'சாகித்ய அகாடமி' (ஆங்கிலம்), 'ஐரிஷ் டைம்ஸ் இன்டர்நேஷனல் ஃபிக்ஷன் பரிசு', 'பத்மஸ்ரீ' போன்ற ஏராளமான விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார். கவிஞர், நாவல் ஆசிரியர், வாழ்க்கை வரலாற்று ஆசிரியர் எனப் பன்முகத்திறன் கொண்ட இவர் இன்று தனது 74வது வயதில் அடியெடுத்து வைக்கிறார்.

🌟 2006ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 20ஆம் தேதி உவமைக் கவிஞர் சுரதா மறைந்தார் - The parable poet Suratha passed away on June 20, 2006.
