உலக நிமோனியா தினம் - World Pneumonia Day :
✒️World Pneumonia Day is observed on 12th November every year. More than a hundred global organizations came together to represent the interests of children and observed the first World Pneumonia Day on November 2, 2009. Since 2010, this day has been observed on 12th November every year.
- உலக நிமோனியா (நுரையீரல் அழற்சி) தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் நவம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. சிறுவர்களின் நலனைப் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்தும் நோக்கத்தோடு நூற்றுக்கும் அதிகமான உலகளாவிய அமைப்புகள் இணைந்து 2009ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 2ஆம் தேதி முதலாவது உலக நிமோனியா தினத்தை கடைபிடித்தனர். பின்பு இத்தினம் 2010ஆம் ஆண்டுமுதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நவம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

வல்லிக்கண்ணன் - Vallikannan (R.S.Krishnasamy) - Renowned Writer :
✒️Famous writer Vallikannan was born on 12th November 1920 at Rajavallipuram in Tirunelveli district. His birth name is R.S.Krishnaswamy. He named Vallikannan by combining Valli, the name of his town, and his pet name, Kannan. This became his name. He has written more than 70 books. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for his book "Puthukkavithaiyin Thottramum Valarchiyum". His book titled 'Vallikannan Sirappu SiruKadhaikal' won the Tamil Development Department of Tamil Nadu Government's 2002 Best Books Short Story Award. Vallikannan, who devoted himself to literature for about 75 years, passed away on November 9, 2006.
- புகழ்பெற்ற எழுத்தாளர் வல்லிக்கண்ணன் 1920ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள ராஜவல்லிபுரத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவருடைய இயற்பெயர் ரா.சு.கிருஷ்ணசாமி.
- இவர், தனது ஊர் பெயரில் உள்ள வல்லி மற்றும் தனது செல்லப் பெயரான கண்ணன் ஆகியவற்றை இணைத்து வல்லிக்கண்ணன் என்று பெயர் சூட்டிக்கொண்டார். இதுவே இவரது பெயராக நிலைத்துவிட்டது.
- இவர் 70க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நூல்கள் எழுதியுள்ளார். இவரது 'புதுக்கவிதையின் தோற்றமும் வளர்ச்சியும்" என்ற நூலுக்காக 1978ஆம் ஆண்டு இவருக்கு சாகித்திய அகாடமி விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- 'வல்லிக்கண்ணன் சிறப்புச் சிறுகதைகள்" என்ற நூல் தமிழக அரசின் தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறையின் 2002ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான சிறந்த நூல்களின் சிறுகதைப் பிரிவில் பரிசு பெற்றுள்ளது.
- சுமார் 75 ஆண்டுகாலம் இலக்கியத்திற்காக தன்னை அர்ப்பணித்துக்கொண்ட வல்லிக்கண்ணன் 2006ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 9ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

சலீம் அலி - Salim Moizuddin Abdul Ali - Indian Ornithologist & Naturalist :
✒️The bird man, Salim Moizuddin Abdul Ali, was an Indian ornithologist and naturalist was born on 12th November 1896 in Mumbai. He met one Millard, who is the administrator of the Mumbai Natural History Institute, and learned many things about birds from him. He went to Germany for gain more knowledge about ornithology and returned home after training with Dr.Irwin Strassman. He became famous in 1930 for publishing a dissertation on the life cycle of the sleeper. He authored and published a book about Birds of Kerala. He has received various awards, special titles and prizes not only from Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan but also from many other countries. People call him as 'Bird Art Gallery', such a wonderful soul passed away on 20th June 1987.
- இந்திய பறவையியல் வல்லுநர் சலீம் அலி 1896ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி மும்பையில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் மும்பை இயற்கை வரலாற்று கழக நிர்வாகி மில்லர்ட் என்பவரை சந்தித்து, அவரிடம் இருந்து பறவைகளைப் பற்றிய பல விஷயங்களை அறிந்துகொண்டார்.
- பறவையியலில் அறிவை மேலும் வளர்த்துக்கொள்ள ஜெர்மனி சென்று டாக்டர் இர்வின் ஸ்ட்ராஸ்மனிடம் பயிற்சி பெற்று நாடு திரும்பினார். தூக்கணாங்குருவியின் வாழ்க்கை முறை பற்றி 1930ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆய்வுக்கட்டுரை வெளியிட்டு புகழ் பெற்றார். இவர் 'கேரளப் பறவைகள்" என்ற நூலை எழுதி வெளியிட்டார்.
- இவர் பத்மபூஷண், பத்மவிபூஷண் மட்டுமின்றி பல நாடுகளில் இருந்தும் பல்வேறு விருதுகள், சிறப்பு பட்டங்கள் மற்றும் பரிசுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார்.
- மக்கள் இவரை 'பறவைகளைப் பற்றிய நடமாடும் கலைக் களஞ்சியம்" என்றே அழைத்தனர். இவர் 1987ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுன் 20ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
