It can also be about an event. In that line today we are going to know about "International Literacy Day - National Eye Donation Day - Devan, Writer - Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan, Violinist - Germany, League of Nations - Willard Frank Libby, Scientist - Bhupen Hazarika, Poet - Macedonia, Independence."

உலக எழுத்தறிவு தினம் - International Literacy Day :

✒️World Literacy Day is observed on 8th September with the aim of making everyone in the world become literate. In 1965, the General Assembly of UNESCO was held. It was during this that World Literacy Day was declared. The aim of the day is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, classes and societies.

• உலகில் அனைவரும் எழுத்தறிவு பெற வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்திற்காக செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி உலக எழுத்தறிவு தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

• 1965ஆம் ஆண்டு யுனெஸ்கோவின் பொதுக்குழு கூட்டம் நடந்தது. இதில்தான் உலக எழுத்தறிவு தினம் பிரகடனம் செய்யப்பட்டது. 

• தனி மனிதர்களுக்கும், பல்வேறு வகுப்பினருக்கும், சமுதாயங்களுக்கும் எழுத்தறிவு எவ்வளவு முதன்மையானது என்பதை எடுத்துரைப்பதே இந்நாளின் குறிக்கோள் ஆகும்.

தேசிய கண் தான தினம் - National Eye Donation Day (National Eye Donation Week is observed annually in India from August 25 to September 8) :

✒️National Eye Donation Day is observed on 8th September every year in India. This festival starts on 25th August and ends on 8th September. During this period, this event is being observed by the Government of India to create awareness and promote eye donation.

• இந்தியாவில் தேசிய கண் தான தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இத்தினம் ஆகஸ்ட் 25ஆம் தேதி ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி முடிவடைகிறது. இக்காலக்கட்டத்தில் கண் தானம் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையிலும், ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையிலும் இந்திய அரசு சார்பில் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

Devan - Writer

தேவன் - Devan (R. Mahadevan) - Famous Indian writer (humorous stories) :

✒️R.Mahadevan alias Devan, one of the famous comedy writers, was born on 8th September 1913 in Thiruvidaimarudur near Kumbakonam. Many of his works have been serialized on the small screen. He has served as the President of Chennai Writers Association for 2 times. He is seen by the readers as a next generation writer. Ashokamitran has referred to him as the 'Charles Dickens' of Tamil literature. He wrote stories, novels and articles for a quarter of a century. Devan, who transformed the worldly things into a realistic story and instilled them into hearts, passed away on May 5, 1957.

• பிரபல நகைச்சுவை எழுத்தாளர்களுள் ஒருவரான தேவன் எனப்படும் ஆர்.மகாதேவன் 1913ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி கும்பகோணத்தை அடுத்த திருவிடைமருதூரில் பிறந்தார்.

• இவரது பல படைப்புகள் சின்னத்திரையில் தொடர்களாக வெளிவந்துள்ளது. இவர் சென்னை எழுத்தாளர் சங்கத் தலைவராக 2 முறை பதவி வகித்துள்ளார்.

• இவர் வாசகர்களால் அடுத்த தலைமுறை எழுத்தாளராக பார்க்கப்பட்டவர். தமிழ் எழுத்துலகின் சார்லஸ் டிக்கன்ஸ் என்று அசோகமித்திரன் இவரை குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

• கால் நூற்றாண்டு காலத்து கதைகள், நாவல்கள், கட்டுரைகளை எழுதிக் குவித்தார். உலக விஷயங்களை யதார்த்தமான, கதைப்போக்காக மாற்றி உள்ளங்களில் புகுத்திய தேவன் 1957ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 5ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

மற்ற நிகழ்வுகள் - Other Events :

🌟The Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act, 1948 : It was enacted on 8th September 1948 & came into force on 10th October 1949, to provide for the regulation of oilfields and for the development of mineral oil resources.

🌟The Textile Undertakings (Nationalisation) Act, 1995 : It was enacted on 8th September, 1995 & as per Sec 1(2) The provisions of sections 31 and 32 shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on 1st day of April, 1994, to provide for the acquisition and transfer of the textile undertakings, and the right, title and interest of the owners in respect of the textile undertakings, specified in the First Schedule with a view to augmenting the production and distribution of different varieties of cloth and yarn so as to subserve the interests of the general public and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

🌟 2008ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி வயலின் இசைக்கலைஞர் குன்னக்குடி வைத்தியநாதன் மறைந்தார் - Violinist Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan passed away on 8th September 2008.

🌟 1926ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி நாடுகளின் கூட்டமைப்பில் ஜெர்மனி சேர்ந்தது - Germany joined the League of Nations on September 8, 1926.

🌟 1980ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி வேதியியலுக்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற வில்லார்ட் ஃபிராங்க் லிப்பி மறைந்தார் - On September 8, 1980, Willard Frank Libby, a Nobel laureate in chemistry, died.

🌟 1926ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி இந்தியக் கவிஞரான பூபேன் அசாரிகா பிறந்தார் - Indian poet Bhupen Hazarika was born on 8th September, 1926.

🌟 1991ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 8ஆம் தேதி யுகொஸ்லாவியாவிடம் இருந்து மாசிடோனியக் குடியரசு விடுதலை அடைந்தது - The Republic of Macedonia (Now North Macedonia) gained independence from Yugoslavia on September 8, 1991.
