உலக பூனை தினம் - World Cat Day :
✒️Cats have been living with humans for about 9500 years and have been domesticated by humans all over the world. They have better night vision, better hearing and more athleticism. A cat cannot taste sweet. To commemorate this, World Cat Day is celebrated on August 8 every year.
- மனிதனிடம் சுமார் 9500 ஆண்டுகளாக வாழ்ந்து வருகின்ற பூனைகள் உலகின் அனைத்து இடங்களிலும் மனிதனால் பழக்கப்பட்டு வீடுகளில் வளர்க்கப்படுகின்றன.
- இவைகள் சிறந்த இரவு பார்வையும், சிறந்த கேட்கும் திறனும், அதிக விளையாட்டுத்திறனும் கொண்டவை. பூனையால் இனிப்பு சுவையை உணர முடியாது. இதை நினைவுக்கூறும் வகையில் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஆகஸ்ட் 8ஆம் தேதி உலக பூனை தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
உலிமிரி இராமலிங்கசுவாமி - Vulimiri Ramalingaswami - Indian Scientist - Pathologist - Medical Writer :
- இந்திய மருத்துவ அறிஞர் உலிமிரி இராமலிங்கசுவாமி 1921ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 8ஆம் தேதி ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசத்தில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் புதுடெல்லியில் உள்ள அனைத்திந்திய மருத்துவ அறிவியல் கழகத்தின் இயக்குநராகவும், இந்திய மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சிக் குழுமத்தின் இயக்குநராகவும் பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.
- இந்திய அரசு இவருக்கு பத்மஸ்ரீ (1969), பத்ம பூஷண், பத்ம விபூஷண் ஆகிய விருதுகளை வழங்கிப் பெருமைப்படுத்தி உள்ளது.
- ஊட்டச்சத்து இயலில் ஆராய்ச்சி செய்தவர்களில் முன்னோடியாக திகழ்ந்த இவர் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 28ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
சிவெத்லானா சவீத்ஸ்கயா - Svetlana Yevgenyevna Savitskaya - Russian Former Aviator - Soviet Cosmonaut - First Woman Flew Space Twice - First Woman Performed Spacewalk :
- விண்வெளிக்கு சென்ற இரண்டாவது பெண் வீராங்கனையான சிவெத்லானா யெவ்கேனியெவ்னா சவீத்ஸ்கயா 1948ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 8ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் சோயூசு டி-7 விண்கலத்தில் 1982ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் முறையாக விண்வெளிக்கு பயணித்தார். இவர் இரண்டு முறை 'சோவியத் வீரர்" என்ற உயர் விருதினை பெற்றுள்ளார். இவர் விண்வெளி திட்டப் பணிகளில் இருந்து 1993ஆம் ஆண்டு ஓய்வு பெற்றார்.

🌟 1942ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 8ஆம் தேதி இந்திய காங்கிரஸ் பம்பாயில் கூட்டிய மாநாட்டில் வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு என்னும் தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது - On August 8, 1942, the Congress of India convened in Bombay and passed the Quit india resolution.
