✒️According to the UN report, 10 percent of the world's population is left-handed. International Left-Handers Day is observed on August 13 every year to appreciate their achievements and encourage them, who are a minority in the society, to make suitable products. This day was first declared by the International Left Hand Organization in 1976.

• உலகின் மொத்த மக்கள் தொகையில் 10 சதவீதம் பேர் இடது கைப்பழக்கம் உடையவர்களாக உள்ளனர் என்று ஐ.நா. அறிக்கை தெரிவிக்கிறது.

• இவர்களது சாதனைகளை பாராட்டும் விதத்திலும், சமூகத்தில் சிறுபான்மையாக உள்ள இவர்கள் பயன்பாட்டுக்கு தகுந்த பொருட்களை தயாரிக்க வலியுறுத்தியும் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஆகஸ்ட் 13ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச இடது கைப்பழக்கம் உடையோர் தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இத்தினத்தை முதன்முதலில் 1976ஆம் ஆண்டு சர்வதேச இடது கை அமைப்பு அறிவித்தது.

டி.கே.மூர்த்தி - T.K.Murthy - Renowned Indian Mridangam Player :

✒️T.K.Murthy, one of Tamil Nadu's greatest Mridangam Players, was born on 13th August 1924 at Neyyattinkara on the Thiruvananthapuram - Kanyakumari route. His full name is Thanu Krishna Murthy. From childhood onwards he was very interested in playing Mridangam. His first concert took place when he was 10 years old. By Seeing his talent, Vaidyanatha Iyer from Tanjore joined him T.K.Murthy. He has played Mridangam for many celebrities like M.S.Subbulakshmi, Sembai Vaidhiyanadha Bhagavadhar. He has received many awards including "Sangeet Natak Akademi Award" of the Central Government, 'Sangita Kalanidhi' Award of Chennai Music Academy.

• தமிழகத்தின் தலைசிறந்த மிருதங்க வித்வான்களில் ஒருவரான டி.கே.மூர்த்தி 1924ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 13ஆம் தேதி திருவனந்தபுரம் - கன்னியாகுமரி வழித்தடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள நெய்யாத்தங்கரையில் பிறந்தார். தாணு பாகவதர் கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி என்பது இவரின் முழுப்பெயர்.

• சிறுவயதிலிருந்தே இவருக்கு மிருதங்கம் வாசிப்பதில் ஆர்வம் அதிகம். இவரது முதலாவது கச்சேரி இவர் 10 வயதாக இருக்கும்போது இடம்பெற்றது.

• இவரின் திறமையைப் பார்த்து தஞ்சாவூர் வைத்தியநாத ஐயர் தன்னோடு சேர்த்துக் கொண்டார். இவர் எம்.எஸ்.சுப்புலட்சுமி, செம்பை வைத்தியநாத பாகவதர் போன்ற பல பிரபலங்களுக்கு வாசித்துள்ளார்.

• மத்திய அரசின் சங்கீத நாடக அகாடமி விருது, சென்னை மியூசிக் அகாடமியின் 'சங்கீத கலாநிதி" விருது உள்ளிட்ட பல விருதுகளை பெற்றவர்.
