Mother's Day - அன்னையர் தினம் :

✒️Mother's Day is a special occasion dedicated to honoring and celebrating motherhood. The day is celebrated all over the world to express gratitude, love and appreciation for the selfless love, sacrifice and support of mothers. (This year i-e 2026 Mother's Day falls on 10th May).

• அன்னையர் தினம் என்பது தாய்மையை கௌரவிப்பதற்கும் கொண்டாடுவதற்கும் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்பட்ட ஒரு சிறப்பு சந்தர்ப்பமாகும். அன்னையர்கள் அளிக்கும் தன்னலமற்ற அன்பு, தியாகம், ஆதரவிற்கு நன்றியையும், அன்பையும், பாராட்டுகளையும் தெரிவிக்கும் நாள். உலகம் முழுவதும் இந் நாளானது இன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. (இந்த வருடம் 2026 அன்னையர் தினம் மே 10ஆம் தேதியன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது).

மிருணாள் சென் - Mrinal Sen - Former Member of Rajya Sabha - Indian Film Director (He raised Indian films to world class, was born on May 14, 1923 in Faridpur, Bengal) :

✒️உலகத் தரத்திற்கு இந்தியத் திரைப்படங்களை உயர்த்திய இயக்குநர் மிருணாள் சென் 1923ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 14ஆம் தேதி வங்காள மாகாணத்தில் உள்ள ஃபரீத்பூரில் பிறந்தார்.

• இவரது முதல் திரைப்படமான ராத் போர் வெற்றி அடையவில்லை. பிறகு, இரண்டாவதாக வந்த நீர் ஆகாஷெர் நீச்சே என்ற படம் தான் இவருக்கு புகழைப் பெற்றுத் தந்தது. மேலும் பைஷேஷ்ரவன், புவன் ஷோம் என்ற படங்கள் உலக அளவில் அங்கீகாரம் பெற்றுத் தந்தது.

• இவரது ஏக் தின் பிரதிதின், காரிஜ், கல்கத்தா 71, அமர் புவன் ஆகிய திரைப்படங்களும் பிரபலமானவை. பல திரைப்படங்கள் இந்தியாவில் விருதுகளை வென்றதோடு கேன்ஸ், பெர்லின், வெனிஸ், மாஸ்கோ, சிகாகோ, கெய்ரோ உள்ளிட்ட அனைத்து உலகத் திரைப்பட விழாக்களிலும் திரையிடப்பட்டு, விருதுகளையும் வென்றன.

• இவர் 2004ஆம் ஆண்டு சுயசரிதை (Always Being Born) எழுதினார். இந்திய நாடாளுமன்ற மாநிலங்களவையில் 1998ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் 2003ஆம் ஆண்டு வரை கௌரவ உறுப்பினராக இருந்தார். இந்திய சினிமாவின் மிக உயரிய விருதான தாதாசாஹேப் பால்கே விருது, பத்ம பூஷன் உட்பட பல விருதுகளை வென்றுள்ளார். 

• இந்தியத் திரையுலகின் தலைசிறந்த அடையாளமாக திகழ்ந்த மிருணாள் சென் 2018ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟 1984ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 14ஆம் தேதி பிரபல சமூக வலைத்தளமான ஃபேஸ்புக்கை உருவாக்கிய மார்க் ஜுக்கர்பெர்க் நியூயார்க்கில் பிறந்தார் - Mark Zuckerberg, founder of the popular social networking site Facebook, was born in New York on May 14, 1984.

🌟 1796ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 14ஆம் தேதி பெரியம்மை நோய்க்கான தடுப்பூசியை எட்வர்ட் ஜென்னர் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார் - On May 14, 1796, Edward Jenner introduced the smallpox vaccine.
